Do you rather an automatic or manual transmission?
by JH in.
my first cars were all "manual" and they were small cars, cheap on gas.. then later on in life, i spoiled myself and bought automatic cars.. last week, i tried a manual yaris, and wasn't that comfortable with the manual transmission.
maybe it's the fact that i didn't drive a manual car in 6 years.. just wondering if anyone here after driving automatic transmission cars since many years, if you would come back to manual..

Hello Im new
by beaver_shots ini didnt see an introduction topic, forgive me if this is not the forum.. my name is kyle.
i was born into a jw family in 1981. i spent my child hood not only going to every meeting but also in a home schooling program ran by some of the congregation folks with children.
extremely cut off from the world to say the least.

would you still remember most names of jw's in your congregation if you saw them again.. let it be the children or people your age or older.. gee, even when i was active, i knew less than half the names of brothers and sisters and their kids..

What was the Average Attendence at your Kingdom Hall?
by jayhawk1 ini don't think we ever had more than 75 for an average attendence at the local kingdom hall.
i was driving by there the other day when the thursday meeting was going on and it appears based on the cars that there is still about 75 people attending.
when i drive by churches of similar size [meaning the church building is about the same size (square footage) as a normal kingdom hall] there seems to me many more people, perhaps 110 or more attending.. i'm just curious if it seems to be a practice to keep jw congregations to around 75 to 100 people or not.

Can the women wear pants YET?
by annalice ini have not been an active witness active for several years now.

i really think that the whole dress thing has been for some time now very outdated.

Crackdown on Marriages
by sammielee24 inthe latest rumblings are that the wtbts may start coming down hard on anyone who marries outside the faith.
jw's who choose to marry a non believer will be df'd.
i would imagine those marrying unbaptized ones will be marked or told to get the spouse baptized or get df'd.
