What "Unwritten Rules" Did Your Congregation Have?
by minimus ini knew of a hall that allowed only white shirted speakers on the platform for sunday public talks!
when a visiting speaker did not wear the official white shirt he was either told that he couldn't give the talk or he could change shirts,as the hall kept a variety of sizes, just in case of an emergency!!!
i don't make this up.

Did Your District Conventions Have A Meat Market?
by Jeremy C ini was recently thinking back upon some of my unusual memories of being in the organization.
one of them was of the dodger stadium "meat market".. we used to attend our district conventions at dodger stadium in los angeles.
for those of you who arent familiar with the stadium, dodger stadium has a very large level with blue seats - which is the largest level within the stadium.

Question about the JW Hurricane Katrina "Relief"
by Brymichmom init was relayed to me by a friend that in order for jw's to get "help" from other jw's, that they needed to fill out a form (to make sure that they were jw's) and answer questions concerning how active they are and meeting attendance.
if the meeting attendance was low or if they were "inactive", then they weren't going to be taken in or helped.
in the situation that was relayed to me, a jw woman with a couple of teenaged girls was asking for help.

Question to those who have recently left the WT
by Brymichmom inis it unusual for jw's to take in a newly baptized person and support that person if they have no money/income of their own?.
i have been out of the wt for 30 years now, but i know a lot of things just don't change all that much.
the daughter of some people i recently met came to me for help last year.
