Bone Pain Update
by outnfree into those who were good enough to respond via pm and post to this friday morning update of mine on the vigil thread:in fact, last night was a rough one for me, beginning about 2 am est.
on wednesday, i went to get my complete blood count (cbc) and i had bottomed out in white blood cells, so home to virtual quarantine after a shot of white blood cell production stimulator neupogen.
one of the side effects can be bone pain, and i felt some pressure in my sternum and vertebrae, but not too terrible.

Chemo begins today
by outnfree inso, i've been sitting at the computer all night long, not really panicked, but definitely disturbed at the thought of what the months to come will entail.. the port-a-cath was "installed" (surgically) on monday, and that was tough.
somehow the lumpectomy last month and even finding out that there was lymph node involvement was okay.
scary, but okay.

Once more, I ask for your help
by outnfree inas many of you know, i believe in remote healing and the power of prayer.

Vigil for my daughter, please.
by outnfree inas mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

When It Snows, It's an Avalanche!
by outnfree inas if i wasn't already completely stressed out about my daughter's upcoming brain surgery, not to mention being executrix of my mother's estate (and she left a lot of debt), i just learned the day before yesterday that my father-in-law has colon cancer, and now today.... today i learned that my 35 year old nephew, my deceased sister's only living son, is suffering from congestive heart failure.
the cardiologists have told him he only has 10% function left.
they cannot even perform a catheterization to see whether or where arteries are blocked or valves are diseased.

JWs Proselytizing on University Campus!!!
by outnfree inimagine my horror as i walked out of my french class this morning to see someone setting up a table, covered in lovely royal blue felt, with two tiers of watchtower literature attractively displayed.
imagine my chagrin when i realized who the "sister" was who was going to sit outdoors and chat up passersby: my former congregation's po's wife!.
i am not sure what university policy is in general as regards proselytizing on campus (but i intend to find out).
