As A JW, Did You Get Involved In Politics At All?
by minimus insince jws are to be no part of the world, it would seem implausible that any witness would even talk about political preferences.. after being on this site for over a decade, it seems to me that there are a number of closeted political junkies.. were you vocal at all about politics and about the town/city/state or country that you were in?.

The distinction between cult and religion.....
by NoRegrets inanother great article from the ted talks.
opening quote really tells it all: "the distinction between cult and religion lies squarely in how those leaving or those wanting to leave are treated.

'We are all scallywags, but God loves us anyway' - My story
by Laika inperhaps the most profound moment of my life occurred when i was sat in a car with my dad.
we were travelling home and having a very jw conversation on the paradise, at least, it was until my dad slipped in one of those rare moments of honesty in the watchtower world:.
that moment really hit me hard.

Another Newbie
by Skinnedsheep ini recently came to the realization that the organization is corrupt and is false.
my story is similar to many i think.
i was raised in the religion, pioneered and served as an elder for a number of years.

Article on Religious fundamentalism may be a mental illnes
by sherry11 inthe table turned.
found this article in regard to religious fundamentalism may be a mental illness which can be cured.. "someone who has for example become radicalised to a cult ideology we might stop seeing that as a personal choice that they have chosen as a result of pure free will and may start treating it as some kind of mental disturbance.".

No Booing Allowed At District Conventions Especially During Apostate Hate Speech Talks
by frankiespeakin inthis district assembly talk is so bad it a shame that no one is allowed to get up boo it, or voice anything negative about it, they have a captive audience of heads noding yes and claps of approval and agreement with every word or else.. it would liven up things if a group spread out in a stadium and started yelling "hate speech hate speech!
" .
