I was interested in politics from my early teens and it was always a point of contention with my mother-in-law. She would cry to my wife that I wasn't "neutral". I remember staying home from the Ministry School to watch the 2000 presidential election. As I became a member of a union, I also became interested in the union politics and attended union meetings here and there. I was sort of lectured by an elder friend of my mine who also belonged to the same union but never attended meetings or voted on contracts. Now that I've been out for awhile I have became very involved with my union as it is a passion of mine and have also been appointed to a board advisory council by the governor's office related to my industry. I also ran for executive board for my union last year and was elected. One day, I may even try to become a business agent for my local union. I love being able to live life unfettered and be who I always wanted to be freely and openly!!!!
