Free to remarry?
by Earnest ini wonder if anyone can help with this information?
i seem to recall that if a husband or wife commits adultery and is divorced, is it necessary for the innocent party to agree before that one can be reinstated?
regardless of that answer if the person is reinstated and wishes to remarry do they need the agreement of the innocent party before they can remarry if they wish to maintain a good standing in the congregation?.

There's something I don't quite get
by dgp inlet's say you're an active witness (well, you guys were, or are active witnesses) and you look around you.
practically every appliance, invention, whatever, most of the food, all the new discoveries, virtually everything was made by worldlies.
it's been that way for thousands of years.

Consequences for remarriage if "unscripturally" divorced???
by compound complex ingreetings, fellow posters, happy couples, resigned singles:.
i know many of you are happily partnered, irrespective of wt rules and regulations on "appropriate" matches.. if you have had a so-called unscriptural divorce and are or were known as a jw, have you dated, lived with another person - a "significant other" - or remarried?.
if you can answer "yes" to any of the above, what were the consequences for you amongst jw family and friends?.

Why should I have to sign a letter saying I want to disassociate ?
by troubled mind ini don't understand why the elders want this letter so badly ....for one i don't remember signing a contract to become a jehovah's witness ,why do i need to resign ?.
also i was baptised in 1978 before the baptism questions changed , i dedicated myself to god not an organization .
my vow was to follow the direction by holy spirit as revealed to me through the bible, not the watchtower ...... if i belonged to the luthern church and quit going after three yrs they drop your name off the member list ........but if i chose to come to easter or christmas service everyonre would still talk to me i just wouldn't be a member any more .. .

District Conventions: The Single People/Wanna Be Married Opportunity
by mentallyfree31 inas the conventions started today in my home state, i can't help but think of the hundreds of jw young people that i know who are still single, esp those over 25. it's really sad that for so many this is their only chance of finding somebody to date.
some that i know have even crossed over into their 30's, and they go year after year, always talking about the possibility of meeting someone special.. the organization literally controls their minds, and dating and marriage to a non-jw is out of the question.
it's so sad that so many have missed out on their life's dreams of having a family and companionship.

Court orders Jehovah's Witness boy be given blood transfusion
by purplesofa incourt orders jehovah's witness boy be given blood transfusionsean fewster from:adelaidenow june 04, 2010 7:12pma hospital has won the right to give a child potentially life-saving blood transfusions despite the religious objections of the boy and his family.. in a south australian legal first, the supreme court this afternoon gave the women's and children's hospital the right to give a 10-year-old boy - a member of the jehovah's witness faith - transfusions as part of his cancer treatment.. the decision, in line with similar rulings from around the world, paves the way for hospitals to take action in future debates with religious parents.. the boy is suffering from an aggressive form of cancer that doctors fear will spread throughout his entire body if not treated with an intense 39-week regime of chemotherapy and surgery, adelaide now reported.. .
the speed of that process will not allow his blood cells time to regenerate, meaning he will require transfusions so that the chemotherapy can continue unabated.. in a statement read to the court, the boy said transfusions carried spiritual consequences.. "the doctors have told me i might die and i don't want to - but i don't want blood," he said.. "the blood will change me... when you take blood, you are taking someone else's life.. "i really don't want this and my heart is ripping apart.".
read more about the court's blood transfusion order at adelaide now.. .
