Can We Give Words of Support To Simon For This Forum???
by minimus inwe go through cycles every so often here.
we get new posters every week and at times we lose some posters.
when most "newbies" find this site, they are thrilled to be able to express themselves in a way that they could never in a kingdom hall.

I'm back...restored...renewed...reloaded
by Yerusalyim insimon has restored my limits...thanks simon.
ya know...if i insult someone...i generally don't mean it...and i usually apologize for it....the topics that got me in trouble are ones i feel very strongly about.
people i know are in harms way...being shot at...and dying...many here would say there's no meaning to those deaths...which takes the heart out of a soldier and makes it harder for them to concentrate and stay out of harms way.

"The cause of the terrorist attack ..."
by Simon in"... is terrorism" .
so says tony blair.. sheesh ... thanks for explaining that tony!
maybe mr bush has passed on the torch and next year we'll be able to buy books of "blairisms" instead of "bushisms" ?

Truth, Justice, and the American Way
by D8TA inah yes, the ?truth?
?and not by the standards of one publishing company in which we all here share something in common with.
as i?ve sat silently for months, browsing this board on occasion, and i still can?t believe there are people here who blind themselves with ?patriotism?

I am just curious... Is there any studies/statistics that back up that Bush
by Country Girl inis in there for the oil?
i am, unfortunately, a middle of the road libertarian married to a hard core republican.
unfortunately, i am stupid enough that i have nothing to back this up, i just feel it, which is the unfortunate inheritance of sensitive people.

Iraq Al Qaeda link apparently is there
by Yerusalyim infox news is putting out a report that the senate intelligence committee has a sixteen page memo detailing the links between iraq and al qaeda going back before the first gulf war.
this includes monies...weapons...and training going to aq, atta meeting twice with iraqi intelligence (1994 and 2000), and a possible visit by ubl himself to baghdad a few years back.
it'll be interesting to see how this pans out...even more interesting to hear what the oppossers have to say if this all proves true...you know...the ones who keep saying there's no link between iraq and a q.

Should Bush Make His STATE Visit To The UK Next Week?
by Englishman innote that i'm talking about a state visit, not your run-of-the-mill political scenario.. state visits from visiting presidents, kings and queens involve open-top parades through pall mall next to queen lizzie in an open landau, several nights in the best suite at buckingham palace, soldiers and guardsmen in full regalia and banquets galore until the excellent food pops out your ears.
that's a state visit.
i don't think that we've had a full state visit from a us president since jfk.. now, our good friend george dubya is expected for a state visit next week.

For Stacy Smith - Government Spending still climbs
by Phantom Stranger inconfounding president bush's pledges to rein in government growth, federal discretionary spending expanded by 12.5 percent in the fiscal year that ended sept. 30, capping a two-year bulge that saw the government grow by more than 27 percent, according to preliminary spending figures from congressional budget panels.
the sudden rise in spending subject to congress's annual discretion stands in marked contrast to the 1990s, when such discretionary spending rose an average of 2.4 percent a year.
not since 1980 and 1981 has federal spending risen at a similar clip.
