Why some will never leave the org.
by JH inwe all had the same teachings when we joined the jw's.
we all studied the same books and magazines and all came to the same conclusion that this had to be god's organization.
we were told how god would establish a new world where we would all be healthy and eternal.

Is the Bible Just B.S.?
by shamus indo you think that god enjoys killing people?
it sure sounds like it to me; jw doctrine more or less scared me into thinking that god is going to kill all persons whom he/she thinks is not doing his will.
my question is, how can god kill someone for not being "christian", or following the bible out of sheer ignorance?

Next New Light??? Heaven's Doors Closed in 1935
by Elsewhere inthe persistent passage of time has forced the borg to literally redefine the word "generation" to suit their needs (it now means any group of people within a span of time that can go on indefinitely).
i'm starting to get the impression that they are going to have to do something with the 8000 or so people who insist on partaking of the emblems every year, thereby identifying themselves as "anointed" and heaven bound.
in recent years they have tried to discourage people from partaking by emphasizing that they could be crazy or diluted or puffed up with pride if they partook (don't ya just love my jw speak!?!?

The Definition of Dialect
by Ariell ina regional or social variety of a language distinguished by pronunciation, grammar, or vocabulary, especially a variety of speech differing from the standard literary language or speech pattern of the culture in which it exists: cockney is a dialect of english.
this is one of the definitions for dialect that i found at dictionary.com.
i think ebonics fits the profile of this definition.

Should People With Mental Health Problems Be Given More Leeway?
by Englishman inmy knowledge of mental health difficulties is confined to my own experiences with depression.. thankfully, i feel that i was able to eventually identify it's source and deal with the problem.
i read lot's of books and camne to the conclusion that i was suffering from a neurosis.. apparently, neurotic people recognise that they have a problem and often seek to remedy that problem.. i read also that there are people who suffer from a psychosis.
psychotic people think that the problems they encounter are everyone elses fault and don't take responsibilty for their situation.

Have you really left?
by Ariell ini'm sure we all view the watchtower society as a mind controlling dictatorship that has systematically destroyed our lives is some shape or form.
i'm sure this is why we've all left, but have we really?
someone can physically leave a religion, but emotionally they're still there.
