  A new Subliminal Message?

  i never gave too much thought to the subliminal messages that seem to appear in the watchtower organizations publications.

  some, i will admit seem to be done on purpose.i am not sure what it is all about.but.....long story short: i found in my front door a new track they are passing out.

  it is titled:"a peaceful new world will it come?

  list allowable things with "pagan" origins here

  i'm interested in developing a list of things jws are allowed to do that have "pagan" or otherwise "evil" origins in the eyes of the wts.

  what types of things are you aware of?

  so far i've got...... red lip stick (allegedly invented to distinguish prostitutes from non-prostitutes).

  i like this quote, from page 145 of theocratic ministry school book about using other bibles.

  'you must realize, however, that some bible translators have taken liberties with god's word.

  their renderings may not conform in all respects to what was in the original bible languages.

  Could a JW be disfellowshipped for lack of "Faith"?

  lets say that a jw tells an elder that he prays and nothing happens.

  then he tells the elder, that after praying so often and asking for reasonable things, i don't believe anymore that god answers prayers, because i was honest in my prayer and god didn't grant me what i wanted.

  i was just wondering if an elder could see this as "lack of faith", which then could be a good reason to disfellowship someone.. .

  New World Translation Brackets!!

  for what it is worth i wanted to pass this along.. we are all aware of those convienient brackets used in the new world translation.

  the infamous colossians 1:16....."because by means of him all ((((other)))))) things were created...".

  at the very bottom of the first page of their bible ...the foreword.... it says.

  i am a college student working on my ba degree.

  i recently graduated with my "aa" degree and i just fell in love with school.

  at 40 i don't mind going to school with 19-20 year olds.

  Question: If you don't believe the wts as truth why still in FS?

  i am puzzled, i see a lot of new posts from supposedly active jw's passing out new tract and don't believe it.

  i can understand still attending meetings especially if family is still involved.

  why not just fade away?

  Anyone Know About The PA Convention?

  is anyone familiar with this upcoming event?

  or know anyone who attends?.

  i had "met" a few gals when i first left the wts (seven years ago) who talked about this convention....one was from western ny....but i have since lost touch with them and lost their email addies years ago.
