COULD BE GONE FOR AWHILE!
by Dansk indear all,.
those of you who have posted here regularly for the past four years have helped me immensely in my recovery from watchtower and have shared with me in my journey.
you will also know that, after winning my battle with watchtower (save for one daughter who is still stuck fast in the org and shunning the rest of us), i have been fighting an even greater battle these past three years - cancer!.

HELP - my boyfriend's ex called and wants them to reconcile....what to do?
by Juniper ini've been seeing an amazing man for a few months now.
i recently found out that before we met, my boyfriend had been thinking about getting back together with his ex-girlfriend.
(who is going through a divorce of her own right now) they have a two year old son together.. he says that if his child weren't involved, he wouldn't even consider going back to her.

they are no longer shunning me....
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini am shunning them.. after some recent developments with my family, and resulting anxiety, i am now the one who has made it clear i want no contact with them.. i am making this clear because i can't say at this point that they are shunning me and i won't claim that anymore.. i did this for the sake of my own sanity (no comments please) and because i need to move on with life without organizational bullshit games that are designed to manipulate and isolate people.. i am not advocating this, i am not saying that this is right and good, it was what i needed to do to survive.. over the winter, i had made this decision, wrote a letter, but could never muster up the courage to do it.. today on the phone, after being told that the reason i could not have family support while hannah had been having her health issues was because they didn't want to offend jehovah, i told my mother that was why i want nothing else to do with any of them.. and that was the end of the conversation.. so..the end i guess.

I've been studying with JW's for a few months..
by MichaelM ini've been studying with the jw's for a few months and i've attended a few meetings but things are feeling somewhat strange...i don't quite get the jist of things but i feel that i'm learning more of what the watchtower teachers and less of what the bible actually says.. i never open my bible.. i'm always reading the watchtower pamphlets.
i really like the people i've met in the congregation and the guy thats been doing the studies with me has been an awesome friend.. .
but i'm just having some issues.. i mean.. they translated their own bible to suit their own doctrines it seems.

Anyone here have experience in Native American culture/worship?
by Angry_Kangaroo insince leaving behind jw beliefs, i have been interested in learning other belief systems.
i am really interested in native american beliefs as i have native blood in my background, and i feel more at peace and closer to god when i am in nature.
from what i have read, it is not a set religion with rules and such, but more a cultural/community based faith.

Would you allow your kid to do a really dangerous sport?
by skeeter1 ini'd like to get your thoughts.
we are torn parents.
having both been raised jws, we said that we'd allow our kids to do what they wanted to in sports.

More help needed... if you can! (for FHN)
by bebu inhey all,.
no pressure, no guilt, but for those of you who can, and those who feel like they would like to make a difference for someone special on this board (aka "family" to many of you), could you please consider helping a 'sister' in real need?
flyinghighnow needs some short-term help financially.
