jwfacts: The questions "to our present life it would help this present situation the world is in?" seems to imply that things are worse now then in the past. I believe we are living in the best period of time ever. There is less war and crime, and people are held accountable to their actions more than ever in history. Perhaps one of the reason you would say this is because of modern technology. How can you say there is less war and crime. Do you have any idea what is happening in other countries? Do you really think the law system in the world truely justify crime? It is true that the 10 commandments are good principles. But the world is becoming a fairer place based on peoples own conscience. Laws on murder, rape and pedophilia are being created and enforced from mankinds own morals, not based on any set of religious laws. People's own conscience? These laws were always enforced from God's laws. What about the people who allow porn on the television. Imagine a PG rated film has cursing in it...it's a norm for young children to curse too right? What else can they watch? Bart Simpson, Beavis and Butthead, Harry Potter....etc??? Even war is now done with the intention of creating the least harm to civilians, not the old fashioned way of systematically raping and pillaging entire villages, as was even carried out by God's own 10 commandment fulfilling people. That is because they were disobeying the laws. Besides what about the types of bombs created - does that have good intentions? Nuclear bombs, atomic, gas.... Does that create least harm?

If the devil existed then I see him as a freedom fighter - painted as the bad guy, but far more worthy of my respect than god.

Do you have any idea what you are saying? Devil = evil

    God is Good!

What is bad? What are the bad things in life crumpet?

Where in "God's laws" is pornography prohibited? What laws in your bible protect children from "cursing"? You don't want a child to watch Harry Potter, but have no problem worshipping a god who ordered the slaughter of an entire nation of men, women and boys. The virgin girls were kept for some reason. (Numbers 31)

In reality, and I'm sure deep down hibiscusfire knows it too, the Ten Commandments contain nothing particularly original, enlightened or useful. It is, however, a matter of faith for her to believe otherwise, and it appears that she always chooses faith over reason. Whether she's inherently incapable of rational argument or simply too intellectually lazy to give it a try, I don't know but the result is the same: a deeply confused and bigoted person floundering in a world too complex for her Bronze Age belief system.

wayhey Hisbis! You've just denigrated the whole religious argument down to a word game - LOL! Well If I'd realised it was all so simple - hahahaha!

What are the bad things in life - do you mean for me personally? I think religion and God and people who kill in the name of it all is probably the most evil thing. Just think what a fabulous world it would be if everyone said ah F*** it - this is all a bunch of crap. Lets ditch god and be guided by what our hearts tell us is right and wrong and just love each other.

I know that i would rather live now than any other time in history, regardless of what country i was in. It is true that technology has a huge part to play in improved living standards. Even a Witness is taught about the the history of mankind in connection with the bible. Sodom and Gommorah, the time of the flood, the Romans, the Assyrians. And how about the dark ages? The cruelty to mankind was at least as barbaric in the past. It is an accepted fact that since world war two the world is in one of the most peaceful times ever from a viewpoint of war. Technology may have made pornography more available, but it has always existed. Pedophilia was rife throughout history, it is only know becoming a known issue. It is very interesting to research history when now longer a Witness. Once research is done without trying to prove these are the last days it is quite amazing to find out how things were in the past. I have also recently done some research on divorce and it is interesting to see that Jehovahs Witnesses have the same divorce rate as the societies that they live in. All religions are based on similar principles to the 10 commandments. Even athiestic people and states come to a similar standard in many areas. It is being unrealistic to think that followers of the bible are unique.

Yes for you personally. Well religion was man-made that is true. But Jesus was the only one who was born of a virgin and died on the cross. He did not commit any crime.

Lets ditch god and be guided by what our hearts tell us is right and wrong and just love each other.

What does your heart tell you? Did you ever wonder how come you have feelings? If you closed your eyes can you picture the room? Even if your brain works a certain way....what is the connection between your heart and your mind?

    Hi.

Potter is playing on mankind's desire for power.

At a time of terrorism, dysfunctional families, and chaos in the world, Harry Potter comes along teaching children that they don't have to be fearful.

The very spirit of the book is teaching young children to be in rebellion of the rules, be in rebellion of authority, that they can have these powers themselves, that they don't have to be fearful, particularly at a time when many are coming from dysfunctional families, broken homes, the tragedy of September 11 and the chaos in the world.

Children are being conditioned that they can look for power within themselves and start bringing some control into the things round about them by tapping into their own powers just like Harry does.

Homosexuals are demanding the right to teach (and recruit) our children. Fornicators expose themselves on the big screen in full view of anyone who can buy a theater ticket. Gutter language courses through our living rooms teaching our youngsters how to express themselves with "shock appeal."

And graphic violence slowly brutalizes the entire society, making us hardened to suffering. This has not happened by accident. There is a three-step process which Satan uses to numb us into silence.

    Step I - Toleration

    Step II - Acceptance

    Step III - Imitation
