If the commands of the OT god could ever have been good and right in your eyes, and you uphold such actions, then you have the required belief to commit such acts. So, yes, since terrorism is defined as the unlawful use of force against innocent people, if you support such use of force then you are of the same ilk as those who celebrate the attacks by Islamic fundamentalists, though not participating themselves. Unless you are willing to say that the slaughter and pillage and revenge filled fantastical rants of the old testamen Israelites were wrong, then I call you to account for upholding any god who would condone or command such actions.

Dare I ask what you think of Zion?

    Zion, in the Bible
z´n or Sion (s´n) , section of Jerusalem, defined in the Bible as the City of David. Originally the name referred to the Jebusite fortress conquered by David, on the southeastern hill of Jerusalem. Zion was later applied to the hill where the Temple stood, and in turn came to denote the Temple area itself. Zion is symbolic of Jerusalem, of the Promised Land, of Israel’s hope of returning to Palestine (hence the term Zionism, and of heaven or God’s dwelling-place with his people.

The ten commandments would help this world be a better place. At least if gives a sense of moral values.

Thou shalt not kill. To kill someone intentionally is different from self-defense BUT why make war instead of peace?

Many fundamentalists feel that Zion, as a literal Jerusalem, must be established as a Jewish nation before the second coming can occur. They feel that the establishment and support of the nation of Israel must be part of American foreign policy, least the second coming be postponed as the invisible forces of the antichrist try to thwart the fullfilment of prophecy.

There are myriad versions of this view. So, that is what I was getting at. Meddling in global politics and the sovereign interests of other nations for the sake of bible interpretations. This view is also linked to the teaching of dominionism, whereby the US as a "christian nation" has a mandate to aggrandize its international influence.

I hope you don't believe that.

And you're still not dealing with the logic I put forward. How is it that my conclusions do not follow, if you disagree?

hisbis - only just back on the board - but wanted to answer your question

    Crumpet:

GOD IS THE EPITOME OF EVIL - he makes Hitler look like a pussy cat.

If God is evil how do you term the devil?

If the devil existed then I see him as a freedom fighter - painted as the bad guy, but far more worthy of my respect than god.

The questions "to our present life it would help this present situation the world is in?" seems to imply that things are worse now then in the past. I believe we are living in the best period of time ever. There is less war and crime, and people are held accountable to their actions more than ever in history. It is true that the 10 commandments are good principles. But the world is becoming a fairer place based on peoples own conscience. Laws on murder, rape and pedophilia are being created and enforced from mankinds own morals, not based on any set of religious laws. Even war is now done with the intention of creating the least harm to civilians, not the old fashioned way of systematically raping and pillaging entire villages, as was even carried out by God's own 10 commandment fulfilling people.

Well honestly I don't know too much on the topic so I really can't say. All I know is that when God's people comes under attack and all seems lost without hope....then Armageddon takes place.
