    Danny:

Would it not be possible that all Gods that the humans have are also a product of imagination.

It is possible that man-made gods are a product of imagination but the true and living God Jehovah is real. God is a spirit - can you see your spirit?

    Think of it this way:

A man is sitting down just like you are. He gets an idea. He gets some cement and sand and uses it to make Buddha. Now after it is dried the people worship the statue/idol of Buddha. Now who made the god (idol)?

God Almighty made us and the earth. How can we make HIM or make Him up?

This has become an interesting thread.

Most of the time, people make up the story first. Then they form visible images of God with the story. But first there is the projection from there own fantasies or whatever to the Gods. In my opinion this happened also with the Jews. Only their God did not have a image made after him. Kind of special. Later of course in christianity this was a difficult for people, and Jezus and Mary images started to appear.
What I mean is not only the making of images, but the making of the stories, the complete picture is also a representation of ourself. Like Satan and God, the battle between good and evil within us.

About boeddism, I think this is much more complex then making an image and worship it.

By the way, do not take it personal if we do not agree. I like the discussion, and think you are a nice person, who just happens to have a different opinion.
Sometimes I would wish I had the faith.

The KJV has been obviously translated into many languages.

But has it been translated correctly? Can that be proved? And in the same way, can it be proved that the KJV is a correct translation of the original texts?

like the Vaudois in the Alps. They received the Scriptures from Antioch about 120 AD and spent 30 years carefully translating it, word for word.

    Wal·den·ses (wol-den'sez, wôl-)
    pl.n.

A Christian sect of dissenters that originated in southern France in the late 12th century and adopted Calvinist doctrines in the 16th century. Also called Vaudois.

Not quite 120 AD (my apologies if I have misread the article there. Difficult to define exactly who 'they' are). Did you know that this sect, although they rejected papal authority and lots of other doctrines, they still venerated the Virgin Mary? Not quite as 'pure' Christian as you may like to think (depending on ones' views of this particular doctrine of course).

Since they knew the truth, they never joined the Roman Catholic system.

Yet they still held VERY similar doctrines. The biggest split was over the person and nature of Christ.

Well why didn' t God tell us in the Bible that He was sending the pope as the Vicar of Christ?

Where in the Bible does God tell us that the pope IS the antichrist?

    Rock Music Makes Rich Wretches
Young men who start rock groups all have one common dream —great wealth. Even though a rock group can rocket to stardom and then disappear in a few short years its members can become instant millionaires.
But these youngsters have found that instant wealth does not end all their problems. They just begin.
Able to have anything they could want, they soon develop a taste for the occult and drugs. Just look at their photographs. Do they look happy?

These very sweeping statements don't even warrant a defence. I'm still trying to work out whether it came from a chick tract or an Asleep magazine. The similarities defy belief.

Don't mention him - he's a demon! The whole story is pure occult!!

Just like to add with everyone else that I'm enjoying this thread too. It's great just to share all our different viewpoints.Hib, you're preaching to the converted with me (although I have some confusion about certain doctrines, my faith is there, that's enough for now). When I left the RC church, I had virtually the same ideas as you but my attitudes have softened over the years.

ps you didn't answer my child abuse issues...

Is there a sudden interest in masterbation or is it an attempt to change the subject?

    Hib,

You're still avoiding the questions. Deal with yourself and answer us. My most recent question was:

Are animal sacrifices good and right, or not?
