    1. You shall not worship any other god but YAHWAH. All that is a easy one to follow. Don't need any Gods.

    2. You shall not make a graven image and worship or serve it. (idols) yes no sence in doing so.

    3. You shall not take the name Lord God in vain. (JESUS, YAHWAH) can live with this.

    4. You shall not break the Sabbath. (You should keep it holy) here the problems start

    5. You shall not dishonor your parents. ok.

    6. You shall not murder. (kill) of course

    7. You shall not commit adultery hmm

    8. You shall not steal. ok

    9. You shall not commit perjury. (lie or bear false witness) ok

    hibiscusfire:

Those aren't the Ten Commandments. They're the old set from Exodus 20. The stones on which they were written were smashed. There was a new set written which differ considerably, recorded in Exodus 34:

    1. Thou shalt worship no other god (For the Lord is a jealous god).

    2. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

    3. The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep in the month when the ear is on the corn.

    4. All the first-born are mine.

    5. Six days shalt thou work, but on the seventh thou shalt rest.

    6. Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, even of the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.

    7. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread.

    8. The fat of my feast shall not remain all night until the morning.

    9. The first of the first fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God.

    10. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother’s milk.

    Iggy:

By honouring your father and mother you get to live longer and would be happier.

Ofcourse some parents don't know how to live so it's up to us to make that difference which will please God.

    10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

    Now that is funny

Actually, if you merge together the Hebrew and Protestant versions of the Ten Commandments, you will end up with Eleven Commandments. The Protestant version does not contain the first commandment in the Hebrew version... instead it breaks the Hebrew second commandment into two commandments.

The key is in the definition of the word "worship." Ex. 20:4-5 says that we are not to bow down to nor serve. The most common Greek and Hebrew words translated "worship," carry the connotation of bowing. God did not misunderstand. He forbid the specific action of bowing down which He considers to be worship.

I agree with Crumpet. I do unto others as I would want to be done to me.

And yes, if you a a mean, nasty person karma is a bitch & the universe will not smile on you.
