It would be very interesting indeed if Howard (I think he was once introduced as Joseph Howard on the circuit assembly) had turned apostate. I remember when I was about 15 years old seeing him lambast one of the sisters on the Ministry School at the assembly about something. By the end of his 2 minutes of "counsel" the poor sister was in tears.
Name the CO's you can recall..... favorites?

Anybody have Ron and Kay Miller? Illinois I think?

Someone mentioned Rainer, I remember he had a vendetta against Gum and a penchant for name dropping....George Benson, etc.
I am suprised that no one has mentioned Baxter, Loud, obnoxious and funny. I've never seen someone pound on a door so hard. Except maybe the cops.

J C Howard was in NYC as a DO about 20 years ago. My wife knew him. If he went apostate that would interest her.

Yes, ma'am. Had him both in Illinois and out here in CT. He reminded me of a televangelist. I very much disliked the graphic, bloody illustrations he'd use in talks (at least in Illinois). I thought he was a big fake. His wife, too, had health problems...allergies to scents and required organic food or something. I was also shocked (as a new dub) at how people in the congo seemed to worship him.
When I learned he was the new CO out here in CT, I refused to go to the KH when it was time for him to "visit".
I vaguely remember a CO couple by the name of Shields (?? not sure of that name) after the Langorias left in IL. They seemed very nice. She had back trouble and, since they'd taken the CO's motorhomes away and they had to stay with people in the congo by then, it was pretty much torture for her (not all hosts having the kind of mattress she needed). I think I heard that they divorced after he ran off with another woman. I remember thinking how sad that she had to endure years of pain following him around in the Circuit work...and then he dumps her.

I hear the Langorias are in Virginia these days, around Virginia Beach.
Anybody know of these names?
Charles Vollmer - always seemed to include the kids in his parts somehow, seemed likable enough
Michael Swanson - way too intelligent to be a circuit overseer, and I wonder if he's still in the org
Jose Luis Felix - Spanish circuit overseer who was really disliked by everybody, even the diehards. A true jerk and not afraid to hide it. Strange thing was, most of his organizational instructions were directly the opposite of what the WTS had directed. Gave an awful first impression, and it never got much better.
Luis Beda - District Overseer who skipped lunch and expected everyone else to do the same.
Robert Wickers - He seemed to be on a power trip. It seems like he had to quit the circuit work after getting hepatitis on a trip to the Russian Convention. I think he was from Massachusetts. I think his wife was named Candy (weird name for a CO's wife?)

We had Bill Baxter. Is that the one? We had him in the early 90's and he was about 70 then. Full head of white hair and an anchorman voice.

John Kuss: was he gay?
I kind of wondered the same thing.
The first time he came to our hall he was explaining how to spell his name and he started out with the story of Puss in Boots. He would say it is pronounced PUSS then he would spell p-u-s-s and then he would say KUSS k-u-s-s. It was kind of odd.

David Biegler.........DO/Deceased.......Always reminded us how tall he was, and appeared to be a real company man, but not too intelligent in my opinion.
Anthony Catanzaro........DO.......Pompous, sometimes stopped his talk at Circuit Assemblies if a person/child walked near the stage when he was talking and glared at them until they left. Would not talk to me when I was new in the faith as I was not pioneering.
Tony Bellegante....CO.....probably deceased.....Served in the 60's. Retired to a trailer home in Florida, nearly broke.
Harold Coonce....CO.....wife Lorraine.........probably deceased........was a barber by trade.. and in my opinion a true Christian.
Bill Batersby....CO............Hated field service more than me........if you went out in field service with him you were guarenteed not to ever take a door.
Gary May.......CO......Younger Single Brother......who once told me he hated JW's! Was critical of the Society for not getting computors much earlier than they did.........Deceased
George Cook.....CO...wife Joan.........Famous for using the slide rule and knowing Greek!...Probably couldn't get a regular job.
Bob Hendricks...CO...Seemed like a pretty nice guy, but always quite nervous.
Dave McClure.....CO.........From West Virginia......Seemed very genuine and nice.
Lyle Reush.........DO..........Older man, no opinion of him
Reuben Cobos....DO.........Seemed to really love and care for the brothers. Liberal and Christian attitude. Wife Paula, also a nice person.
One was removed during his visit with our congregation and an Elder from another congregation filled in for the rest of the week. Something scanalous, but was hushed up even to us Elders. Can't remember his name as it was his first visit.
There were many, many others that escape me right now, but many of them were the best money could buy!
