    Sassy:

Brother Valours.. his first name escapes me

That was Charles J. Valorz, and his wife was Ellie. He was actually a District Overseer in the late 70's in the area of Minnesota / Dakotas / Nebraska, and a very entertaining speaker. The best D.O. ever !

    Keyser Soze:

Lyman, who died several years ago

That was Bud & Winnie Lyman. They served a Minnesota circuit in the late 70's. Nice people, very dedicated to the Borg. They tried to discourage me from going to technical school instead of pioneering, but I went anyhow (and sure am glad I did).

We also had a Brother Wells who was our DO about 5 years back. I don't recall his first name, but the kissing a corpse remark sounds vaguely familiar. He was a pompous ass.

yes! when I left Minnesota and came to Cali.. sure enough I heard that familiar voice on the stage..

actually that was in 2000... not sure if he was the assigned DO at the time here in Cali.. or just visiting.. but I was tickled to see him.. I went down and introduced myself and told him how wonderful it was to hear a familiar voice..

About three years ago now, maybe a little less, Brother Wells was District Overseer over WI and whatever else. Anyway he gave a talk one assembly and told those attending that "If you don't believe that this is the truth, then go out and find it." If I ever see him in person (although I don't even remember what he looks like) I will thank him for allowing me to take this permanent extended leave of absence from the kingdom hall to search for the truth. I haven't found it yet, but I'm still looking.

The only one I can remember is Bill Gus.He gave the prayer at my Grandpa's memorial sevice. His mother went to our hall for as long as I can remember.Last I heard he was a CO.

I also know Major Spry or Sprye. His sister went to our hall.He was some kind of big shot at bethal then went in the DO work.He may have also been a CO at one time.

Other than that I don't remember any of them at all.

Edited to change name from Blankinship to Spry.Thanks.You know who you are.
