quote by FrozenOne:The other one was Jerry Burgess. He was a nice enough guy, but sadly he was the CO that gave me the "why waste your time going to college" speech. His little chat played a big part in my dropping out of school. While he probably meant well it doesn't stop me from hoping he is living his twilight years in a run down mobile home and greeting shoppers at Wal-Mart to make ends meet. About the only grudge against someone I've kept.

I remember Jerry.. and his wife. I actually went to her for a support hug after they were out of our circuit (just out) and my mom had been dfd.. I was so upset .. I remember her telling me how much my mom had loved Jehovah and how surely she would come back.. sigh.. she was right..

Bonnie_Clyde mentioned Dick Ciranko. He's my current District Overseer. From what i've observed he seems to be a very laid back, charismatic guy. Excellent speaker as well.

the one D.O. I remember most (I am most likely going to butcher his name) was Brother Valours.. his first name escapes me.. We used to have several of his special talks on tape that he would give before a circuit assembly at the host congregation. I remember wearing out a tape on Angels... I actually just threw away a copy I ran into when I moved a few months ago when I went through my cassette tapes..

I used to be rivited to his assembly talks..

Troubled Mind - I knew Jay Koscinski, can't remember wife's name, I think he gave my baptism talk in '81.

I really liked Bill and Janice Lynch.

Did anyone know Roger and Avalon Stovall ? He used to be my P.O. before becoming a C.O.?

I think my old friends Dave and Debbie Dipple went into the circuit work.

Rob Wickers, I knew from NH/MASS circuit. He was quite taken with himself.

DO Samuelson was a very sharp guy. Last I knew he was in Service Dept.

There was a Brother Bennett. I heard he was an old CO who either slept or closed his eyes often at the meetings and wasn't the brightest bulb in the sky.

Bob Rokos (deceased) was a intelligent person. He could figure a person out in seconds.

Sam Belfiore was an old CO and a fiery speaker in his day.

    My most hated:Terry Angelacos

    ROFLMAO @ Pratt1:

We imtiated his gestures and flipeed him off at the end of his talk.

Of course he went balistic and told our elders that we should be eaten alive by she -bears.

That is hilarious! How old were you guys?

The funny part is that Mr. Pomposity couldn't really touch you until after the talk. I love it!

Dave and Susan Gibson Co and wife visited Moncton New Brunswick in the early 80's. All the kids loved them cause they actually talked to us. He always had a talk that was interesting to us and his wife had pictures all the kids in her briefcase. My mom was a seamstress and all the sisters chipped in to by fabrics so mom could make her a new wardrobe. I remember Susan being really touched by it.

Most hated : Bernie Gerou 94-95 Nova Scotia. Famous for the "The Devil was at that party" public talk. Surprised he made it out of there alive.

Oh, Jerry and Vera James.........CO............very nice people, seemed like the perfect couple! As I understand it they later divorced. Feel bad about that, but it seemed to happen quite often. I don't think either one of them are still associated.

Would that be J.D. James? A guy who sounded a lot like Jimmy Stewart?

Blondie mentioned three that served our circuit in the '80s. Kenneth Eberline was probably my favorite. Very tactful and soft-spoken. She also mentioned Lyman, who died several years ago, and Collar, who I personally thought was a schmuck. If it's the same one I'm thinking of, there were a lot of sisters in the circuit who despised him. He was a very big proponent of married sisters not working.
