"Bible Chronology" and the "Seventy Years"
by Doug Mason into arrive at its date of 607 bce for jerusalems destruction, the wts uses what it calls bible chronology.. this bible chronology says that since the seventy year period ended in 537 bce, when 70 years are counted back this provides the 607 bce date for jerusalems destruction.. the wts says its bible chronology method is superior to the secular uninspired chronology provided by secular sources.. does the wtss bible chronology align with the bibles teachings on the seventy years?
is its method the valid way to determine when jerusalem was destroyed?.
these matters are discussed in my study, which is available at:.

That Magical Number: 2,520
by Quendi ini wanted to relate this experience i had on sunday while renewing ties with an old friend.
we argued about the meaning of daniel 4 and nebuchadnezzar's "tree dream".
my friend had insisted this dream told the reader the length of the gentile times.

Is the Watchtower stubbornly holding onto the 70 year exile figure within the Old Testament?
by sabastious ini read outlaw's post about how he has watched people make an online career out of debating for and against arguments regarding 607 and 586 being the date of jerusalem's fall.
he's right that this has happened and it's had the nasty side effect of "mudding up the waters" so-to-speak in regards to anyone wishing to glean wisdom from these debates.. i am not a historian and when posts start getting overtly historical my reading of them seems to slow down and i find myself having to reread posts.. i am going to try to simply state each argument to see if i have put it together (correct me if i am wrong):.
the watchtower says that they default to the bible's figure of 70 years of jewish exile which is used more than once in the old testament.

Whatever you do, arrive at 1914
by Doug Mason inthe wts claims that the length of babylons king nebuchadnezzars suppressed state symbolised the suppressed state of gods kingdom.
each day of the heathen kings lack of control represented a year of heathen supremacy.. .
since nebuchadnezzars experience was symbolic, it would have ended before the fulfilment started; unfortunately the hebrews scriptures do not specify that moment.
