  LDS-New leader invites all former members to return to the fold.

  i read on aol today that the morman church is inviting former members to return to the church.

  food for thought....would former jehovah's witnesses return to the organization if the invintation would be extended from the society?

  would you go back if being disfellowshipped or disassociated was not an issue any longer?

  slower to chase down those that disagree?

  perhaps this is a local phenomenon.

  but it seems the elders are slower to chase down those that disagree, or have faded in the past few years.

  i have heard (and seen) in the past where someone even remotely outspoken about disagreeing with the watchtower or some such would get the fury of divine retribution brought down upon them in an instant.

  on another thread, a poster alluded to the witness prohibition on uttering the word "lucky," as the word "lucky" is associated with dreaded paganism.

  as i recall, instead of saying "lucky", witnesses are "counseled" to employ the term forunate.

  the problem is this - the roman goddess of good luck was named fortuna; her greek equivalent was named tyche.

  bilingual programs in the schools are prohibited.. *************** there are no bilingual ballots for citizens that speak a different language from the majority of citizens.. ************** all government business will be conducted in the language of the majority of the population.. *************** non-citizens are not allowed to vote.. *************** foreign nationals, even if naturalized, are not allowed to run for office.. **************** foreign nationals, even if they gained citizenship, are not allowed access to government programs.. ***************** foreign nationals may invest in this country, but it must be 40k more than the minimum wage.. ***************** foreign nationals may buy property, but beachfront property is only reserved for citizens.

  if you wish to buy beachfront property, you should try to naturalize yourself, which would include the revocation of your previous country's citizenship.

  just a heads up to anyone who might still attend the occasional meeting, there's gonna be a major guilt talk on the service meeting during the week starting april 7, 2008. it's entitled "why put off baptism?

  " (kinda weirdly worded title if you ask me.

  sounds like it would be a list of good reasons to put it off.

  after several years 'out' i can't be the only one who still gets a bit pissed off to hear 'oh so clever' apostates slagging off jw's for being dumb, stupid and worse.

  grow up!

  the beliefs of jehovah's witnesses are certainly stupid but then i'd say the same for all christian belief just as many of you might condemn my atheistic, evolutionary postion as being nonsense.

  Help Me Please !!!!!!!!

  i need some support and advice with my situation and hope you don't mind me going on a bit because i feel wretched!

  i hurt so much with my jw family relationship and find it so frustrating that whatever i do or say doesn't make any difference.. my son and wife had a little girl 9 months ago, my first and only grand child and i love her so much.

  when she was born my hubby and i helped them a lot wiith buying all the expensive things she needed, as my son hadn't a well paying job as being a die hard jw he believes in the "education and career isn't what you should be doing propaganda" put out buy the wt.
