What are the 5 biggest WTS scandals?
by AK - Jeff inif any have followed my latest thead you know that i am scheduled for 'termination' by a jc in about two weeks time.. i am deciding what if anything to do about the matter - i.e; da letter, just ignore and let then df me, or some other option.
one appealing option is writng a da letter, not to the elders, but instead to three or four former friends in the truth, explaining the reasons for my exit, based entirely on conscience.
i have the base of this letter underway, but would like to list succinctly three or four of the more significant matters of moral interpetude by the wts.

Do JW'S need James 1:5
by Ade ini was reading james a minute ago and wondered whether this verse is needed for the average jw's, after all how can they be lacking in wisdom when gods anointed are leading them ??
i know this probably seems harsh but hopefully you can grasp what i mean, when you have all the "so called" knowledge of god and interpreting the scriptures why would any of them need to ask god for wisdom that he's already given them ??
maybe i'm having an unreasonable moment here folks.

for Christians: How did you decide on the Bible?
by BlackSwan of Memphis infor those of you who are christian and accept the bible as nothing less then the word of god, how did you come to that conclusion?
how much research did you do into the bible to get to the point where you sat back and said, this is it?
or was it zero research and more a leap of faith?.

Co-dependent Behaviour
by Sad emo ini've been looking for info on co-dependent behaviour and what i've read so far really confuses me!
i found loads of websites with lists of 'how to recognise co-dependeny' but many of the behaviours listed appeared to be relatively normal things - such as worrying about other people or feeling like you're giving all the time but nobody does anything for you etc.. so i was wondering, when does what might be perceived as a normal reaction to life's ups and downs cross the line and become co-dependent behaviour?
the only line i can think of is when the behaviour becomes obsessive or excessive.. my black and white thinking is possibly coming in here but if people don't exhibit at least some degree of co-dependent behaviour, won't that make them totally selfish?.

What do you do when asked a question you don't know the answer to?
by DavidChristopher indo you admit your ignorance on the subject..and tell them to find someone who is already successfully achieved the results they are seeking...or try to point them to someone you know who is there?.
or do you use them as test monkeys and point them in a direction you are thinking of trying but afraid to do so.
or act like you know the answer so they do find out your true ignorance on the question?

What will you miss?
by beautifulisfree inwe all know witnesses believe in the paradise.
they make it seem like it will be such a beautiful place free of crime, pollution, sadness, etc.
but, if there was really going to be a paradise here on earth the world as we know it would be so different.

Source of "God's Spirit"
by A Paduan in"but in looking to god for his holy spirit we may not overlook god's manner of imparting his spirit.
not only must we study god's word, have the right mental attitude and pray for god's spirit, but we must recognize god's visible organization.
god is consistent, a god of order, not a god of disorder, even as his word assures us.
