Google predicts search - Jehovah's Witnesses mentally diseased
by slimboyfat inhave others noticed that if you enter "jehovah's witnesses" into a google search that the first alternative it predicts is "jehovah's witnesses mentally diseased"?.
i use firefox and am in the uk, if that makes a difference.. does that mean that "jehovah's witnesses mentally diseased" is currently the most popular jw related search?
if so i wonder how many of those searches are by jehovah's witnesses prompted by media exposure of the issue?.

What a dumb thing to have done!
by Fernando inat times i want to kick myself for mindlessly letting the "god of religion" teach me about the "god of abraham" for more than 40 years.
what was i thinking?.
then again i was a third generation born-in who simply and naively believed the "reality" i was presented with, whilst unknowingly being held captive by spiritually blind, confused, inebriated and insane watchtower religionists in a mental prison with invisible bars..

The Control is simply amazing
by outsmartthesystem inat the kind advice of so many of you (and hassan) on this board....i ceased attempting to discuss doctrine/failures with my wife many months ago.
but unfortunately that does not prevent her from grilling me from time to time.
during one of our infamous "discussions" she said she was going to "investigate" this supposed "proof" that is out there regarding 587bc.

Can science allow one to extend life or live indefinitely now?
by EndofMysteries ini just had some weird thoughts.
right now we have the technology, artifical hearts, limbs, etc.
recent news articles i've read about how the technology now on reading thoughts, already people can think of turning on tv, electrical things and it happening with a chip implanted.

Why did/does there appear to be an unusually high number of "Germanic" names in the Governoring Body compared to others?
by StoneWall intoday as i was researching past and present members of the governoring body of j.w.
's something stood out to me that seemed out of proportion towards other name origins.. the vast majority appeared to be from the germanic peoples.
either they were originally from germany themself or their parents immigrated from germany.. here are some of the ones i researched and you should be able to spot just from their names a hint of their origins:.

The True Nature of Reality
by ballistic indoes any one have any good theories on the true nature of reality?.
if you google this you come up with lots and lots of really wacky fringe science.. it's one of those things that shows just how little humans know about our existance or the universe.. some of the more interesting things i've read, are that our 3 dimensions are just a construct, time doesn't really exist, and another essay explaining that we can't trust our senses and they actually tell us very little about the world around us which is really full of electromagnetic forces, waves of various types and sub atomic particles.. i have started a thread before something along the lines of, i think therefor i am.
i exist on some level.

Society tells us to stop asking questions...
by cedars ini was just glancing at the back of the october 15th watchtower and the questions from readers.
the question under discussion is "what should i do when i have a question about something i read in the bible or when i need advice about a personal problem?".
the article goes on to discuss how we should consult the watch tower publications index among the many 'tools' that have been provided by the faithful and discreet slave whenever we have a question that is not directly discussed in the publications.. one statement really caught my eye, because it's the first time i've ever seen the society actually dissuade people from writing in with questions.
