  Until then, this is all just talk. So far, I don't see ANY action in making progress towards this book being available by legitimate means.

  It's been two months since Cedars made that video about the guy that sent him the bootlegged copies. TWO MONTHS.

  Get a legit electronic copy of the book available for purchase. I guarantee you most exJW's will stop sharing the illicit PDFs.

  Drag your feet on it, and the PDF's will continue to be shared.

  Don't like it? I don't really care, and I'm sure there are many others that don't really care either.

  @cappytan I don't understand why a copyright holder would need to show accountability to the readers. If the book was meant to be free why wasn't it while Ray was alive? Clearly this wasn't his wish.

  Saying there needs to be accountability seems to be a fancy way of saying I have no answer for the fact it costs to translate.

  I know for a fact that she received at least one contribution of $1000. I sure was classy of her to not even say thanks.

  How have her contribution efforts been working out for her?

  We live in South Africa. I would love a hard copy of this book but 1. due to our very poor exchange rate the book is completely unaffordable and 2. Amazon doesn't ship to our country (as far as I know) due to the local theft of parcels.

  If it wasn't for a bootleg copy pdf it wouldn't be available for me at all and I would be in a complete quandary spiritually. I am further confused by all these issues over the internet and wouldn't know who has a legit copy or not if I were to buy it.

  I have been scouring the 2nd hand bookshops for this book as a softcopy is a real pain to read. What will you be doing to make it available to us in the third world at a reasonable price?

  Do you think it is O.K. to promote bootleg copies of Crisis of Conscience? If yes, explain.

  I don't see either a legal of moral basis for doing this in the case of COC.

  Since Ray Franz charged for the book himself so as to maintain and promote the book, is it not O.K. for the new copyright holder in which he entrusted this work to do the same? If no, explain.

  It is legal and moral for the copyright owner of COC to charge money for new copies of COC.

  Loyd is a sideshow in the bigger picture of Watchtower-world. I see no reason to publish private correspondence here when he is banned from speaking for himself here.

  To tell you the truth, it seems to me if the effort is to reign in copyright infringement of COC then time spent opining on a forum like this is a complete waste of time. No one here can do anything about it, except for the most part share untrained and inexperienced opinions about what should or should not be done, or whine about what gossip says has been done. If Loyd is doing something illegal then take it to authorities who can do something about it. If whatever he's done is not illegal but, in someone's view, unethical or immoral then taking up the discussion here is little more than chatter. I don't see the point of it, and in particular I don't like it when the individual involved is not free to reply in the same room where accusations are made. (Disclosure: I have no relationship with Loyd and have no idea what he has or has not done in respect to COC.)

  Hadriel I'm aware that CP charged for the book but there would have been thousands of folks with money to spare who wanted to buy the book but it was out of print.
