What are you looking for here "growinggirl20"? What brings you to our neck of the woods, you have some unsettled issues or questions you would like answered? We have been where you are, what if Jehovah does bring the "End" now, can you tell me how you differ from monotheistic Mennonites who preached in 1800s Mongolia, North and South China, who lived the truth as close to the Word as possible? Are you picking up your torture stake by driving around in circles for six hours, drinking Starbucks coffee and eating Denny's Grand Slam Breakfasts, make you holy? How can you compare yourself to men and women who were true martyers like Chrisanthama or Ufula, Saint Patrick, Servants, Waldenses, Milton, Newton, Wycliffe?

Why was the last time you saw a CO go with a meal for the sake of Christ? The Apostle Paul letters and Missionaries (The True Pioneers) of the past, demonstrate true self-lessness, how can you compare what you do with a real Missionary? It's Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit to claim driving in some air conditioned car, calling on Ghost-Towns is spreading the word of Christ!

The hypocrisy of attacking the Catholic Church with their pedophile cover ups is now coming to haunt the WTS, what nerve they had, when they knew they had a group of vile pedophiles roaming through the congregations, keeping this Top Secret, not calling the police, threatening members not to gossip about pedophiles! Warning your brothers and sisters about a sex predator is not gossiping, it's called being human!

Hey I asked for a "sign" too when I was exiting and got it too, more and more and more clear and undeniable evidence that it is a cult.

    Go figure.

    But it's OBVIOUS that:

    1. Jehovah is blessing the preaching work...
    2. the bible makes it clear that there will be a faithful slave in the time of the end to give food and that we need to worship with other believers----
    3. we have examined other religions---they are not doing these things!
    4. Jw's are the best of the rest.

Each of the things that you have stated are not obvious at all and each point you make is in fact wrong. I don't want to sound harsh, but your statements just shows a lack of knowledge and naivety on your part.

Did we ever find out how the prayer was answered?

Bubblegum Apotheosis' other post made me think of you:

What Are You Looking For, Something That Makes Sense Of Kingdom Hall Conduct?

What would you do if you weren't afraid of dying at Armageddon? What would you do if you didn't feel guilty of displeasing God?

  • rebel8

Three sundays ago,i was praying and asking God for a sign or something because i was so confused...i told him exactly what i needed to see for me to believe.I was feeling terrible--crying and feeling sick because i was so confused.Ten minutes after, i walked into the kingdom hall and to my surprise--my prayer was answered!

Please provide a literature quote that says it's in line with the Society's teachings to ask for or believe in signs. It's my understanding that is a severe deviation from the Society's teachings.

In fact, in pioneer school, IIRC I was taught it's a serious sin to ask for or believe in a sign. Jehovah doesn't "do" signs. He doesn't communicate directly with humans nowadays. Asking for a sign shows a lack of faith. Signs can be from demons.

To the one that wrote this ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Have you ever surfed all over the internet to learn that your gb. has been lieing to you about everything since Russel 130 years ago???????????Like 20 false Armageddon dates,,,,ex. 1975?Like 1914 and 607 bce?Like millions of bits of informtion that needs to come to the surface? If or when you finally realize what has been going on up in the witchtower, you will be shocked and up set in the end!Turn the light bulb on now and start asking questions about this or that? You can not argue truth, sooner or later it will come to the surface!Good luck who ever you are?Oh i forgot,,,,,,,,,,,none of you people are allowed to ask questions. But does that policy not bother you?If they really have truthfull teachings, then they have nothing to fear, however if they are lieing, then they have a lot to fear, especially all of the posts all over the internet! In the end only God and his word stands, and everything else,,,,,like the spectulations of men fails!

Reading what GrowingGirl wrote made me kinda sad, but I think I understand where she's coming from. She obviously has a very good social network at the KH, and chances are she's never seen with her own eyes the level of hypocrisy that exists in this religion - not every congregation is a cesspool of dirty dealings. Knowing that you have to give up all of the social contact you know and are familiar with in order to leave this religion can be truly frightening, and this fear can make someone retreat into what's comfortable and then be forced to defend it. Ignorance can be bliss, but what's been seen cannot be unseen. Everything she's learned here will clap away at the back of her mind and she'll find it very hard to be truly happy. It's a sad thing to see happen, but arguing doctrine over social comfort is futile in a situation like this.
