I still say those ridiculous gay pride parades breed a lot of hatred to gays in general. That is the only thing that some of these people see in these sheltered towns, and therefore assosiate a homosexual with. Pretty sad.
Well, my sister and her girlfriend are raising her GF's baby girl, now 2. The only problems I see, as a mom with 13 years and 3 kids behind me, are two inexperienced people rasing the first child. Like all of us with kids were. They are normal parents. Potty training, daycare, and temper tantrums.
They are also planning on a commitment ceremony and my sister wants to become pregnant next year. She must be happy. She could never imagine herself pregnant, now she wants to go first.
Might I make a comment here? If we were all to sit around and enjoy a few beers together, do you suppose that there would be so many inflamatory comments such as the insults that are being thrown here? By both sides?
I was under the assumption here in JWD that we were ALL a bit more tolerant of one another as opposed to the narrow minded BASTARDS that we at one time buckled beneath.

Many people don't want to 'deal' with the lifestyle. (Don't ask, don't tell, don't wanna know)
Many people view marriage as only valid between a male (born with y chromosome) and female (born without y chromosome).
Many don't want their children choosing this lifestyle.
It is not a valid concept in their mind only the choice of another. Nuture not nature
Many feel this is become a 'forced' issue.
This doesn't mean they wish the gay/lez community any ill will.......it is just too much unwelcomed information.
