Paul Kohler, an extremely nice man.

Timothy Bland, very funny, but 'was called home' to wherever he came from in the middle of our circuit-no explanations given. We knew that he had been married but that his wife was not in "the truth". Imagine the speculation there. Always wondered what happened to him.

I can't remember the most recent guys name, but he was a total jackass. Would only talk to the pioneers, looked down his nose at everyone else. Owned his own printing business of some sort and was pretty well off, yet never stopped reminding the brothers that secular work is unimportant, we never want to put work ahead of meetings. Of course, it is a lot easier when you are the boss and call all the shots, not to mention the money. It was this idiot that bumped my doubt up to outright questioning when he stood at the front of the hall and told us to give our children's education funds to them now so they could pioneer--they would be much better off. Yeah, until they run out of money and cleaning toilets all night and pushing litterature all day.

The one that I'll never forget was George Cook. Jerk

We had him too, as a District Overseer. I actually really liked him. He really liked my brother, because he was rich, had a jaguar he let them drive, and he had a computer George used, back in the 70's. My brother really advanced in the Borg under George Cook.

My favorites were: Al and Louise Michaelson (she hated field service), and Al would always put her with me every day, at her request..............we got to be great friends, and she sat in my hospital room all afternoon, one day after I'd had a premature baby by C-section. She had the service group drop her off. She was great. Al was very nice and very much involved with the young people. He would organize a basketball game for Saturdays, when he was at our KH.

Bob and Sharon Voake.(they were from Austin Texas).......I loved both of them, but my husband detested Bob and said he was an arrogant, high minded jerk. Sharon resented being in the Circuit work, because they had owned a beautiful home that they had sold, and one of their daughters was pregnant. Bob had been a veterinarian before he went into the Circuit, and she missed the money. Amazing what the wives will tell an elder's wife/pioneer, that they trust.

Jerry Griffiths..........can't remember his wife's name. Jerry was so nice, and handsome. We heard he fell to temptation and they got divorced.

Kin and Mary Jo Suen...........LOVED them. They ended up in Hawaii, where they visited us when we were there on vacation. Kin was Chinese and Mary Jo wasn't. Interesting couple. They fit right in in Hawaii, but they hated it. She was allergic to the sun, so used a large parasol out in service and Kin didn't swim. What a waste of the islands. They had to stay "with the friends" and usually slept on a fold out foam on the floor type bed, sharing a house with a large family and one bathroom, typical over there. Mary Jo complained endlessly. She was so real!! I was pioneering when we met them over there, so I went in service with the group and was invited to the pioneer meeting too. I declined to go back to the beach house.

There are more that I will probably remember when I read this thread.

    Nick Kovalack--Little man syndrome

I remember him from when I was a child, in the 50's. I remember him being very handsome with dark curly hair.

Manera (CO/DO Dynamic speaker, liked his wine and golf) Heard rumor he passed away.

Angelo Manera? We never had him in our circuit, but he was in the one North of us, so was at our District Conventions. Everyone seemed to love him. I hadn't heard he died. He was pretty young, if that's true.

Did anyone have Don Amy? We never had him but my sister in law and brother in law did, and they didn't like him at all. They live on Vashon Island, a small island off of West Seattle, where lots of old hippies live. The standard attire there is jeans, and lots of denim. He gave a talk about the sisters not wearing denim skirts and denim jumpers in field service. She said they did anyway, because they had no other skirt-type clothing. He was furious at them.

    Bro Manfredi

later the one I liked Bro. Green a younger guy and big and good sense of humor

Elmer Manfredi and his wife Carol. She was much younger. We heard she died of cancer a few years after we had them. In our circuit, they were newleyweds, about 1969.

Brother Green, (Was his name Bill?) He was very nice, and young when he was our District Overseer. He stayed at my mother and stepfather's house. He had a wife, but can't remember her name. I remember he really harped on long hair and sideburns at our CA. At the next meeting, all the men were wearing their "Brother Green haircuts". That was the 70's.

Probably my favorites were the Willhites. Everyone called him Willy and his wife was Vera. They went to Gilead after their children grew up, and went into the circuit work. They were real people, who could relate to family life. Loved that about them. Willy died and Vera settled near us. They were from the Seattle area.

We got to meet the Friends(Max and ??) when he came to give a special talk in Seattle. He was an old friend of my stepfather, so he and his wife stayed with them while they were in town. He was really a dear, dear man, quite elderly at the time. He took our daughter's face in his hands and told her (after learning her name was Rachel) and told her his great great grandmother was also Rachel.

My folks studied with Mark Lett... I knew Steve when he was about 25 or 30. Mark was a good olds school guy...very sincere but mis-directed. He was also loaded from his years as a Pest Exteminator. Steve got were he was on his dad's apron strings.

IP SEC mentions Lowell Quasney... I knew his Brother Ron (and Doris) , they were in my congo in Tennessee back in the early 70's.

Anyone know Noland Wiggens? He's one of the few people I would hurt if given the chance. Total asshole. Hell has special space for clowns like him.

The names are all coming back to me now.

Does anyone remember Peter and Rita Michas? He was from our area (Seattle) and sang opera. When he left the Circuit work to care for his elderly mother, he took a job singing at a local Italian restaurant. I think he still sings there. His mother died shortly after they left the circuit. Rita had been Rita Rasmussen from Montana. The Rasmussens are a huge dynasty of JW's, most of them still active.

Bill and Donna Spangenburg? Donna was sick all the time, and rarely came to meetings and out in service. She was always at lunch though. He finally had to retire because of her health, whereupon she got a full time job, and never missed work. Hmmmm.

I had Bill and Peter as my CO's at pioneer school. They made it fun. Peter would play piano and sing for us at lunchtime. Bill was in my car group for field service and worked with me all the time, making me very nervous at first. I started two Bible studies during those two weeks. He was thrilled because that was going to be his new congregation and the school was his last assignment.

When Peter was serving our congregation, he was very fun to work with in field service and didn't take it too seriously. He was Greek and loved to talk recipes, and music. One time we were at a door where we could hear people inside playing instruments. They invited us in and he sang while the old couple played violin and piano. One of the oddest days in field service I ever had. But fun too!

I remember one from when I was a teenager...Dave Mraz...I think. His wife committed suicide and he left the circuit work.

    Hi Undercover,

I knew a Dave and Nikki Mraz in the West Jefferson/Boone, NC congregations. He wasn't in the circuit work in the early '90's, and when my mom left NC in 1996, they were still there...not sure if they are the same ones??? I asked my mom, and she said Nikki suffered from depression, but she hadn't heard if she killed herself. I personally just remember Nikki being very sweet, and Dave was a total and complete asshole. Nikki wanted to get in touch with my mom after she faded, but Dave wouldn't allow it. (Nikki had asked my sister for my mom's address, and that's how my mom found out this story.)

Please let me know if this is the same person--could you let me know when and what time frame this may have happened? Thanks!

I cannot remember many, but in Florida--Crist and James Wheeler and....we had a new one right before I left in 1994, and he was awesome, but I can't recall his name.
