That is blood curdling information. JW mums will be sitting their grateful for these kind words from the Watchtower, but in reality it shows the truly destructive effect the WTS is having on its members.

It claims to be talking about a person that leaves Jehovah, but every reader knows it means a person that no longer is willing to bow to the whims of the Watchtower Society.

The article shows the true humiliation, pain and suffering the WTS causes family by their ridiculous notion that if you are not a JW you are not worthy of salvation and as good as dead. (Not quite dead as "Jehovah leaves the way open for them") Parents end up loosing their joy in life. And it has the audacity to describe this as "the reasonableness of Jehovah's arrangements".

Considering that over 2 out of every 3 JW kids leave the Org there are a lot of suffering Witnesses around

I agree w/JWfact's words that are quoted here.

This article is so manipulative of peoples' emotions. It brought back very painful memories of the time my family spent in this organization. Now I can see it for what it is, but then I didn't and suffered much pain along w/my kids trying to balance the WTB&TS's unreasonable expectations and the realities in life.

WHY DID WE FEEL SO UNHAPPY? Because this crap and a lot of other crap is what they lay on you. And then they boast about Jehovah's happy people.

I see the WT trinity of study, meeting attendance, and field service is offered as the universal balm. Yes, I am sure many parents bury their pain this way to fester for a time. I wonder how they will feel years later when they find out they have grandchildren they have never met, and adult children permanently estranged? Consider Sunspot and her heart-wrenching thread.

Respect Jehovah's arrangement for discipline. If your relative has received discipline from the congregation, remember that this is part of Jehovah's arrangement and is in the best interests of all, including the wrongdoer. (Hebrews 12:11) Therefore, resist any inclination to find fault with the elders who were involved or the decisions they made. Remember, the best results come from doing things Jehovah's way, whereas opposing Jehovah's arrangement can only result in added distress.

From my observation on this board, terrible advice. Sensible parents who chose to ignore the shunning advice saved their children untold pain. For whom is this advice supposed to help? The elders?

The only good I can see is if the WT has to repeat this advice, the parents are having a hard time following it. Keep giving those elders H$$$, parents!

OH, and the sidebar for exited JW's? "Return or you will die." Nice. Bets on how many parents will snip this article sidbar out and mail it to their children?

This was far too painful to finish reading. There will be reserved a special punishment for those knowingly responsible for pushing this family destruction deception. How about an eternity of isolated confinement without the possibility of death.

    Think about it WT.

    What vile, emotional pornography!

They truly are the masters of emotional blackmail. I loved the "storm clouds of armageddon" are brewing statement!!! LMAO! I can see this article really being

directed at "fading dub-kids" that are still forced to attend and read this crap at the king-dumb hall. Hit them with a cheap guilt trip, since they certainly cant present any logical arguments

    for remaining in the borg.

This article demonstrates why this religion is a cult. Notice some of the ways it words things:

Maria, whose brother turned his back on Jehovah to pursue a course of immoral conduct, say, “This has been hard for me to bear because in every other respect, he has been a wonderful brother to me. I especially miss him at large family gatherings.”

Maria's brother turned his back on Jehovah...doesn't that make a JW cringe, to think that someone would be so bold? Simply leaving the religion is tantamount to treason. And they made sure to mention "immoral conduct"; a big no-no in dubland. But at the same time he's been a wonderful brother. So, which is it? A gross immoral hater of Jehovah, or a wonderful brother? Isn't it possible that one can leave the religion and be a wonderful person? Maria implies that it is possible. But with the buzzwords and loaded language of the text, it gives the JW the impression that the brother is at fault for causing Maria her grief. Why is he missed at family gatherings? Why wouldn't this wonderful brother be there? It's not stated, but it's obvious to the cult-minded: He's been DFd and is not allowed to associate with the family.

    Another quote:

Respect Jehovah’s arrangement for discipline. If your relative has received discipline from the congregation, remember that this is part of Jehovah’s arrangement and is in the best interests of all, including the wrongdoer. Therefore resist any inclination to find fault with the elders who were involved or the decisions they made. Remember, the best results come from doing things Jehovah’s way, whereas opposing Jehovah’s arrangements can only result in added distress.

How many times does this article say "Jehovah's arrangement"? How many times is "disfellowshipping" mentioned? Notice that they are watering down what the arrangement is to non-JWs, but JWs know only too well what "Jehovah's arrangement" is. And then they have the audacity to say, "Do not question". And then they give a time honored cult remedy to all problems; "read over and over again the articles..."

I'm going to print this article and let a couple of non-JWs read it and see what their opinion is...I'll let you know when my survey is done.
