Can't use word such as Darn or Shoot because they're substitutions for the Forbiden Curse Words D__M and S__T.

by avidbiblereader inthe witnesses always say they are free in christ, i beg to differ, i don't know how many stupid unscriptural laws they have but lets start a thread on how many dumb witness laws you know and have heard of that make no sense or completely unbelievable, it is like they have a second talmud.
cant have walt disney movies or stuffed animals as this is magical.

Do j.w.'s use a "prayer book" and recite prayers?
by hubert inwhen i went to my father-in-laws funeral last year, my j.w.
daughter and son-in-law went up to the casket in the funeral home, knelt there, and "prayed".
as i think back on this, i hear j.w.

Even though they say they don't believe in repetitious prayers, they still do it.
The Content of their Prayers can be Predicted. They Always sound alike because they always say the same old stuff. I remember drifting off to sleep on numerous occasions during these sessions.

Being materialistic, as a disfellowshipping reason.
by free2beme inmy sister and i, are my mothers only two children.
we were both witnesses at one point, i left ten year ago and my sister left in 2005. my mother remains as the only witness left in my immediate family.
while my sister and i make good money, with our careers and duel income in marriage, we don't talk about it much.

I believe Poor People are generally more Materialistic and Greedy and Rich People. That's why they condemn those who appear to have more than they do. It makes them feel Superior.

Homeopathy popular in Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by Tigerman inis homeopathy ( the treatment of a disease using, in small doses, drugs that produce symtoms like those of the disease so that one's natural immune system can fight off the disease ) popular among active jw's ?
my son who was raised as a jw has a large ( adult male palm size ) fatty growth on his back.
his jw mother is treating him with homeopathy, as is a so called doctor.

A Kingdom Hall was robbed here in Columbus sometime this past year. The only thing taken was the Money. I thought that was pretty Interesting. How did the Crook know where to look?

Most controversial?
by joe_black ini know that most of what the wbts says and does is viewed by many of us as hogwash, but what do you think was the most controversial thing that happened or was said by the watchtower in 2006?...............i mean something so obviously off the wall or sinister that it would make even the most hardcore jw pause and say, "hey, what the f*ck?!!

Women are in subjection to their husbands and to the Elders!!!!!
by Gill inthe february 15th watchtower 2007, is spectacularly nauseating!!!
at least i found it so.. i would welcome the opinion of all on the board to this sentiment on page 19, paragraph 8 and9:.
'although subjection can be challenging, women can welcome it as honorable, even as did jesus.

Men Often use Religion in General to Keep Women Under Control. It's not jut the JWs.
