Jehovah's Witnesses... Who sent the Star of Bethlehem?
by JW Answers injehovah's witnesses... who sent the star of bethlehem?.
the watchtower teach their followers that the star of bethlehem was sent by non other than satan... however as we take a look at the scriptures by comparing spiritual things with spiritual we begin to see that the star of bethlehem was not sent by satan, but used for the glory of god.a seasonal message to end the year.. watch now here :.

"The Branch did not approve of us to get a video security system"
by James Jack inthis was the reply i was given by our coordinator at our recent kingdom hall security meeting.. he explained that they aren't allowed to buy any appliances or do any changes to the kingdom hall without branch approval.
"we put in our letter that a video security system could be purchased for around $600 locally and an app could be downloaded for the attendants to monitor the cameras what's going onoutside.
" they said;" such a system would not be needed in our area of the country, if standard protocols of security are followed as outline by the branch.

"The sun will be darkened, & the moon will not give its light." How do events like this affect superstitious humans?
by fulltimestudent inthe gospel of matthew's homily on the signs connected with the imagined return of christ, features an element of the sign that seems to really scare superstitious people.. matthew 24:29 reads: "immediately after the distress of those days "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;".
in the nineteenth century such an even occurred twice in the 19th century and apparently became part of charlie russell's conviction that the end of the world was nigh, charlie, of course, was a 'man of faith' accepting the bible as true and not willing to search for alternative explanation for such events.
if charlie r. had been the sort of person that continually asks why, his life and ours may have taken a different course.. i cannot quote where in his mass of writings he cites those 19th c events (its a long time since i've bothered to be interested in his writings), but mention them he did, and saw these events as proof of the imminent return of jesus christ.. so let's look at these two 19th c.natural occurrences, and compare them to another occurrence some 1400 years ago.. the 19th c events occurred in 1814-16 and again circa, 1883. the reason for the sun and moon being darkened was volcanic activity, easy for us to appreciate, but more difficult for religiously superstitious people.. the wikipedia encyclopedia notes the 1814-16 event: quote.

Remarkable similarities between JW JC & LDS elder meeting
by Dagney inact 1 of the podcast below are experiences between young lds women and their disciplinary meetings with lds elders and the aftermath.. it reminded me of conversations we just had in tahoe last summer from several who had to go before a panel of jw elders, alone, 13-14 years old, scared out of their wits in having to confess a wrong doing.
parents are unsupportive of their children, instead force these young girls into these confessional meetings.
the scars are deep and pervasive.. so the same with the ladies in this podcast.

Had a family member try to initiate shunning but now they are settling for no religious discussion, notice how I did that....
by Bad_Wolf ini think this can help some people.
i had a family member who due to holiday issues, felt they had to start shunning me unless i returned to the religion.
and you know they think those of us who leave still believe it's the truth and we are choosing to willfully rebel against god, etc.
