I miss Maximus!!!
by TweetieBirdAtWork inwith all of the new revelations about the wts and the un, i really miss not having maximus's input into this whole thing.. maximus, if you still check this board occasionally, i would love to get your insight into this issue.
so many of us, especially me, have a great deal of respect for your knowledge and wisdom.
i hope you and your family are doing well.

Our Great Freeness of Speech
by comment infor a non-witness, in particular, "our great freeness of speech" has to be one of the most misleading phrases in the witness lexicon.. it's often asserted from the platform that jehovah's witnesses enjoy great freedom among themselves, and scriptures like 1 timothy 3:13 are cited to corroborate this: "for the men who minister in a fine manner are acquiring for themselves a fine standing and great freeness of speech in the faith in connection with christ jesus.".
influenced by such other phrases like "conscience matter" and "personal decision," a non-witness may be led to believe: "wow, they get to make up their own minds about a lot of things!
that sure is different from all these other authoritarian religions.".

Why so much DEFICIT?
by Aintthatcute inwhen i sit at a ca and the bro comes out and reads the financial report it is alwasy in the red (deficit).
then i ask myself: "if we own this building, the parking area, and there is no food being served; how in the world can we have a deficit?
" typically, the deficit is in the range of $5000 and $7000.

Whats your thoughts on sex & the WTS
by Leander inhopefully this topic won't shock anyone, i'll try to keep my comments as tasteful as possible.
just recently (last weekend) my younger brother met with the elders because he was engaged in fornication.
the elders decided to disfellowship him even though he had long stopped having any contact with the person he had been involved with.

Meeting's..........the best Medicine!!!
by Latte indo you remember those truly wonderful occasions when the meeting was in full swing, and something/one would make you laugh uncontrollably............so much so that you had to go out.
(and yes, your were sat on the front row!
you would go out and feel terribly guilty, and when you thought you were under control, you would venture back in only to find that the air was still full of laughter (on your row)..............truly wonderful meetings!!

the upcoming special assembly this sunday would seem to be a great opportunity to spread this un issue to the jw r&f.. can't you just hear the "buzz" in the hallways:.
"why are the apostates holding signs saying, 'get the wbts out of the un'"?.
