by leavingwt insome of my christian co-workers have related to me how jesus has spoken to them.
one of the comments that i remember specifically, was this:.

The Watchtower hates the word, "You"
by moshe indozy brought up a good point a few months back about how the wt uses third party terminology to obscure their real motives.
i thought it was a good idea to revisit this wt writing technique.. (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/184897).
look at the nov 15th 2009 wt, "treasure your place in the congregation" and compare what happens when we replace the third party terminology (words in bold type) with first party words.

Another example of why Christians' thinking baffles me, God made it stop raining....
by HappyGuy ini was overhearing a conversation among some christains at lunch the other day at my favorite diner.. a teenager had been at some kind of marching band camp, but it had been raining most of the time they were there.
they quoted the camp director as saying something like "i know it has been raining but today the rain stopped, thank the lord that he made the rain stop, now we can have our band practice, the lord made the rain stop to give you all the tiime to practice....".
so, i turned around and asked "if the lord made the rain stop, did the lord also make it rain so that the marching band camp was ruined?

Are JWs discouraged from seeking mental help?
by Kristina1972 inmy husband was raised in this religion, but was never baptized and does not go to meetings, although my mil is heavily involved.
although my husband doesn't practice his religion, he believes it is the truth and i hate asking him questions, because he is very defensive of the religion.
he and his mother, many years ago before i knew either of them, were treated for severe depression and hospitalized (at different times as a result of them going through divorces.

Is the LAW still binding?!?!
by EndofMysteries inthis is kinda scary, for those who believe in the bible, first jesus said that he wasn't abolishing just fulfilling the law.
the penalty of sin is death, so he covers that.
many take that as most things are okay then.

Conference Call in 15 mins - some here may like to listen
by Gayle inthe watchtower organization is very much aware of what is going on in their false religion.
too many witnesses no longer believe their teachings to be biblically correct.
an intensive effort to discover disloyalty, subversion, and those causing divisions is now taking place.

Why Do I Not Care Anymore? Possibly a Rhetorical Question
by cantleave inthere was a time, not so very long ago, when a purpose in life was so important to me.
it mattered to me what i believed as to how we came here.
it mattered to me what happens after death.
