More Internet users = Fewer WTS members?
by doinmypart in1 billion internet users expected in 2005...in the next five years many internet users will be supplementing pc internet usage with smartphone and mobile device internet usage...growth of internet users will continue in the developing countries for another decade.
-- (http://www.c-i-a.com/pr0904.htm).
the wts is scared and doesn't have a clue how to prevent current members from getting the real truth online.

May KM, You've got to read this
by doinmypart inthe may 2005 km (us branch version) is a bunch of tripe.. in the first article, jehovah's day is near, the writers are feeding the r&f more gloom-and-doom-the-end-is-near.
the 3rd family article is family schedule-family field service.
the 4th family article is family schedule-the family study.

WTS Letter to Elders
by doinmypart inactually the letter is from the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.
it was sent to elders in february 2002, after our last km school.. i scanned and posted this letter back in 2002, but with the influx of new posters this is a good time to bring this letter back to light.. it discusses field service, inactive publishers, shepherding, marital problems, child abuse, and other topics.
some of the topics in the letter have been updated in more recent correspondence, but overall this is an interesting read.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/tmp/boe20020318.pdf.

Gas prices & JW Conventions/Field Service
by doinmypart inwith gas prices forecasted to reach $2.50 in the u.s. do you think this will impact the district conventions this summer?i hope that either fewer will travel to the conventions, and those that do attend will donate less money to the wts.. and what about field service?
i realize hard-core jws will continue in the "ministry", but in my area we have a lot of driving territory.
not many are willing to drive, they prefer to stay close to the kh and work shorter periods rather than spend a lot of money filling up their gas tanks.. in other countries where gas prices are higher than u.s. prices perhaps people are used to it, but do you think it has a bearing on jw activity?

Wanting to leave JWs & Spouse problems
by doinmypart inare you trying to fade or otherwise distance yourself from the org, but have a spouse that is a loyal jw?
on various posts i read about some that are staying in the org, or having a difficult time because their spouse doesn't understand the change.
i'll begin...my wife doesn't understand how i can turn my back on all the good things i've gotten from the org.

WTS Leaders strong arm tactics
by doinmypart inwts leaders don't want to give up their authority.
they fear that doing so will give members too much time to think and pursue personal goals at the expense of organizational goals.. but in small ways they are being forced to loosen their grip.
out of one corner of their mouths they say, "voting/blood fractions/certain holidays are a conscience matter" while at the same time tyring to maintain control via strong arm tactics - -.

Why the WTS hates the Internet
by doinmypart inthe wts & its various corporations are a behemoth, rudderless ship with no one at the helm; only concerned with self-preservation.
the result is an inflexible organization slow to make change and not interested in the welfare & rights of individual members.. the internet and boards such as this allow for excellent communication and freedom of information.. because the internet is free and provides relative anonymity it has proven to be one of the greatest threats to the wts.. the wts leaders could be proactive and act in an ethical way, but they'd rather react when a perceived "threat" arises -- telling members to avoid the internet, shun family members, do more/stay busy, and so on.. as jt used to say, "i love this 'net thang".
