i just stumbled on this site today, and am i ever glad i did!!!
i was raised as a witness, my mom being a witness and my dad a non believer.
growing up i never wanted to follow all the rules, and often broke them behind my mothers back.

I've been DF'd for 20 hard years. It still doesn't seen that long. I've tried alot of things. For me, I found my spirituality with Wicca.

I think I just laughed SOOOO hard I peed my pants!! My gut hurts sssoooo bad from laughing.
I've been back in Misery, oops, Missouri a month. But I am SSSOOOOOO homesick for Texas, especially Dallas. All those places that are described I can see like it was yesterday! And believe it or not, I MIGHT have had road rage a time or two!! (Yea, right!)I did private nursing for all the Emergency rooms around there, especially Methodist! Talk about a rough neighborhood! The hospital had their own private police department. They escorted nursing staff in and out of the hospital.
On all those highways-like I-35, I-75, and all the toll roads you never drop below 80mph or you'll get a ticket, or worse yet, ran over.
Shelley's rules on those highways: Inner lanes are for slow drivers, middle lanes are for passing, inside lane is SHELLEY'S lane.It's OK to use it, but if I'm on the road, stay the hell out of my way!!

okay i know this is a dumb question, but was it just me or did we seem to have a lot of janitors and landscape people in that religion.
i did know a couple of higher paying professions in our congregation, nurses, large business owners and a couple of retail managers.
Our congregation in MO had several cleaning/landscape businesses for such a small town. My stepdad started one, which was bought by another brother when he moved. It was a big deal to my stepdad when I finally become a nurse. (Keep in mind I was DF'd when I did this.) I'd get emails from people telling me how he brags about me being an ER nurse. Sounds kinda two-faced to me!

i just joined this forum, for two main reasons.
1-i've been feeling the need to talk to some ex-jw's out there.
i feel like i've only been alive for 2 years, and it's hard to feel normal around the public.

with the recent media attention to the blood issue, public interest in this issue is heightened.
i am considering publishing a book about the blood issue.
my tentative plan for the book's contents:
I know my parents were prepared to let my little sister die because of that damned blood ban. She was 4 yrs. and climbed up on the hitch of an old utility trailer. It slashed her faced up and split her eyeball into 3 pieces. 6 hours later a surgeon finally agreed to the surgery. Because some angels were watching over her, the injuries healed and she has not lost her eyesite. They paraded her around like a trophy. All I can remember is the fact they were willing to let her die.
Have you ever read my 2 experiences with the elders in the DFW area? I can email them to you, I imagine everyone is tired of me ranting about them on here. But because of confidentiality, I'll have to change things.
I'm passionate about this topic! It really gets my blood boiling!

i made a profile and tried to join all the jw groups...most actually let me in lol big mistake !.
others questioned my sincerity....observant of them lol...and decided to engage me in a little question and answer session lol even bigger mistake lol.
i'm telling you...if you have no life like me....lots of free time and a love of messing with people....this is way too much fun !.

looking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.
he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.
i am wondering is these percentages.
Ratted out both times!
First, by another "sister" who was my partner in crime! She got feeling guilty and confessed. I refused to meet with them. Instead I snapped and ran away to my biological dad's in Texas.
Second time-- My stepdad ratted me out. My parents ran to the elders every time we got in trouble. He didn't like my attitude, and it damn well wasn't going to change!!

i know we have heard about it as regards an elder who has "sinned" and keeps it quiet, he does not have to step down.
but when it comes to the lowly rank and file, what would you do, or "have " to do if you found out about some actions of a publisher that occurred a few years ago?
also does a person who leaves the truth and then wants to come back after a number of years have to confess to all the stuff they did when they were out ?
I'd like to know the answer to this question, too. My mom (the JW I'm staying with temporarily) told one of her elders about what my stepdad did to me. He wanted to know if he was ever disfellowshipped because of it. Just to see how far they'd take it, I told her I'd never consider attending a meeting as long as he walked around-- unpunished. Of course, I don't plan on EVER going to a meeting, but I'd love to see this played out!! Any other suggestions??

i understand that chinese hamsters ovary cells are genetically modified to produce factors viii and ix.. are they allowed under jw doctrine?
My own experience is that they allow whatever the local elders are in the mood to allow, and who it is that is involved. I see ALOT of power trips on this topic. I'm sure you all know by now how I feel about this, and the lengths I've gone to in order to save a life with blood. My blood BOILS every time this issue comes up. It's almost enough to make me go really postal!!

what will happen at armageddon when non-jw's and jehovahs witnesses live in the same house.
how will jehovah make sure that the fireballs hit the non-jw's but the jehovahs witnesses remain unharmed.
I say that they can tell the difference cause most of us will be at a gigantic keg party or the local bar--celebrating!! My JW mom (that I'm temporarilty staying with) keeps remarking about "all the signs now showing", and brings "what is going on in the middle east" into the one-sided conversation. I remind her these events have gone an for centuries, but only now do we have the technology to see these things on the tv/radio. And she goes on and on and on and on.....................................................................
