McDonalds Prohibited?
by DakotaRed ingiven how the org went after tobacco in the late sixties, resulting in it's total prohibition in the early seventies, based on the health communities claims of how bad it was destroying the body (a claim not disputed by me) and how they made it a disfellowshipping offense to smoke, chew or otherwise use tobacco, i wonder if they will now ban eating at mcdonalds?.
there is a group out there of health professionals (or claimed) that wish to heavily tax mcdonalds and other so called junk food places.
the taxes would be used to treat all the millions of people who are afflicted with the dreaded disease of obesity and to combat the rising costs of treating these poor misguided individuals that have been led astray, thinking they were getting healthy food at the loacl greasy pits.. will the elders start smelling everyone's breath upon entry to the kingdom halls for tell tale signs of mustard and pickles?

The way to justify a JW
by BQE ini had gotten a few minutes to myself this morning and i was looking through some old photo albums of my family and such.
i couldnt help but think to myself "what a waste.
" i have family members and friends who are so talented and so gifted in many ways that i am not, yet they choose to remain witnesses.. even the small handfull that know its all a lie, still choose to remain that way.

Worldly Husbands
by Frenchy inlarc has an interesting thread going about why jw men choose to date (and beyond) worldly women in lieu of dating the seemingly overbundant supply of 'horny' sisters available.
i recommend it.. it set me to thinking about yet another interesting phenomena in jwdom.
that is the situation where the jw woman has, as a husband, a 'non-believer'.

Wasted Life Story..The Uncaring Husband 1.2.02WT
by ISP inthis is the wasted life story from the feb 1 2002 wt.. i would have entitled it the uncaring husband........ this guy gets married in 1954. tragically his wife has to have an operation to remove a brain tumor in 1957. this leaves her in a fairly desperate state.. as a result, my wife was left partially paralysed , and her speech center was badly affected.
now a whole set of complicated challenges arose for both of us.
even the simplest task became a major obstacle for my dear wife.

Pagan or not pagan, that is my question.
by libra_spirit ini have been trying to figure out whether or not i am a pagan.. i looked in several dictionaries and now i'm really confused.. one says a pagan is one who has more then one god, another says that all religions that predate all existing religions are pagan.
christians say everything except christianity is pagan.
i'm beginning to wonder just what the word actually means, if anything.. christians use the word with distane, others seem to rejoice in using the word to describe themselves.
