Kwintestal --- The early years ***Warning - Long and possibly boring***
by kwintestal ina lot of this i haven't ever discussed with anyone.
this is virgin territory into kwin's head.
for those on the board who know me (family and friends) i would appreciate if this could stay on the board as it has taken quite some time to build the courage to write some of this.. i guess i am somewhat of a 3rd generation jw, however my mom and grandmother became jw's in the mid to late 70's, shortly before i was born in 1978. my mom was 16 when she had me.

It's funny how the little things seem so big.
by kwintestal inyesterday my 6-year old daughter broke her arm at school.
just a little break, but a break all the same.
she's doing great, and kept her good sence of humour the whole way through.. this was her first visit to the hospital, so they had to get all of her personal information.

Would you take "no" for an answer.
by kwintestal init seems to me that there's a big difference between the "old-school" jw's and the "new-school" jw's when it comes to the door-to-door work.. i took "no" for an answer.
someone didn't want to listen, that's fine.
"have a good day then.

I'm having "doubts".
by kwintestal inwouldn't you consider a "doubt" to be a very weak word for how you felt upon learning what really is going on with the wts?
i was really giving that term a lot of thought the other day, and it really is a term to keep control, because it makes it sound like heck, you're just confused and don't know what's going on.
of course they're not going to say "friends are going online and looking at apostate material and are becomming thoroughly convinced that what we're teaching is wrong.

Filling the gap.
by kwintestal inimo, jw's go door-to-door for two reasons.. 1. that's what you have to do to gain salvation as per wts (selfish).
2. to genuinely help others (unselfish).
so, for those who did it for reason 2, upon leaving the wts, what have you done to replace preaching to assist your fellow man/woman?
