There's nothing better than a reminder when there's still 2 months (and change) to go.

Make your plans, clear your calendars. If you are a "possible-maybe," look again at the possibility.

8 weeks from tomorrow, Monday July 6th- Zed and I leave for the road trip to Tahoe. I have 8 weeks worth of other stuff to get done that have nothing to do with the trip, so I will stay busy.

I have tried to build up my anticipation by doing things a little bit at a time. I gathered up my music collection for the trip. I put the soft top on the Jeep finally for the season. I mapped the whole route out and put it in the trip planner in the GPS. Two of our travel days (one going west and one going east) are a bit long and I will need some 5 Hour Energy just in case. My wife asked me what we would see on our drive and I googled images of the South Dakota Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone Park, Grand Tetons, Bryce Canyon.

I just two weeks ago bought a guitar and decided to learn to play. Although it's a lifelong project and I am still on tripping over my fingers on the most basic chords, Flipper said "Bring the guitar." I will make room for it, but I ain't exactly going to be ready for DUELING BANJOS or even TWINKLE TWINKLE.

I say all these things because I absolutely love my ex-JW family. Last year, I wasn't going to make it because of a schedule conflict for the July 4th weekend, then Flipper changed it to the weekend afterward and I could make it. It was my 5th time.

I hope that my planning and excitement rubs off on others and they decide to come or to overcome their reasons for being on the ropes. I am sure there's still some rooms at the nearby motels and I am sure that a couple more tents could be squeezed onto the campsites if necessary.

The rooms along Cedar Avenue, next to State Line and the casinos in Nevada are slightly overpriced and I noticed their rates are climbing. If you haven't booked, you will have to do some hunting to look for a deal. But you can get a room for just Friday and Saturday night there.

    Yep....it has Mr. J.

Looks like Mrs XYZ and I will be able to be there again this year as well...gonna' drive it this time though. It's only a 13 hour straight shot (done it lots of times) but I think we're going to take a few extra days off, take the scenic route and make a road trip of it. (XYZ Jr. and his GF are finishing up at the University with a few summer courses so likely won't be able to go this time)

It's probably too late to get a campsite now but I'm sure we can get a Motel room. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and seeing OTWO's beloved JEEP ! (sounds like a fun trip...every time I see a Jeep I think of you out there in Chi town. P.S. thanks for the heads up on the Motel rooms)

To anyone who's never been and thinking about attending but not not sure what they'll encounter.... relax, it's very laid back and you'll be at home with everyone within minutes of arriving.

Awesome, my excitement helped push you over the edge. (I bet you would have come anyway.)

The Jeep was my present to myself for my 50th year on earth. It's something JW's would scorn plus they would hate my reason for buying it.

I think this quote explains why I love you guys and gathering at this fest:

β€œIt doesn't matter what you did or where you were...it matters where you are and what you're doing. Get out there! Sing the song in your heart and NEVER let anyone shut you up!!”
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

    I hope that's self-explanatory.

It should say "mental disease" to fit the Watchtower magazine's words, but close enough:
