Let's find the facts for sure before affixing blame!

When one of the attackers yells "Allahu Ackhbar!" It's pretty obvious what is to blame... Islam.

Islam needs to be erased. It's a poisonous religion that breeds extremism.

Why are these extremists so focused on Paris ?

Paris traditionally has a large Arab & french african muslim population .Also there is much antagonism over the French attitude/racism toward their former colony in Algeria which only gained independance from France in the 60'safter a long bloody war

Also France is strongly secular & there have been antagonism around banning of headscarfs in eg public schools etc

It is perhaps somewhat true that the US indirectly sponsored the militant rebel faction in Syria , which unintentionally morphed or splintered off into the hands of the ISIL organization but that was not the original intent.

    Please read .........

After the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad in 2011, rooting for the rebels was, for many in the West, synonymous with rooting for democracy and freedom.

In the US, White House officials offered the rebels humanitarian aid and some military gear. But they argued over whether they should provide heavy weapons and help in a more serious way.

The philosophical discussion at the White House was heated and fierce, leading to stalemate, not resolution.

For years Obama and his deputies refused to say categorically: we're not doing this. Instead a decision was postponed.

Four years later, the result is a splintered Syrian opposition, the growth of the Islamic State group and a humanitarian disaster stretching across Europe.

I think, from the reports so far, that the death toll could well turn out to be in the several hundreds.

This is a very dark night for Paris, France, Europe and the rest of the free, rational, non-zombie world.

Let me make this VERY clear: we will not tolerate any apologetics for Islamism on this site. Take that shite elsewhere.

We're also not going to have political point scoring and this simplistic "we should arm the enemies of our enemies" does not work in this region and never has. Everyone is fighting everyone else - it doesn't make any of them our friend.

Hezbollah are fighting ISIS. Are Hezbollah our allies? We need to put our grown up pants on and stop viewing everything as an old fashioned cowboys vs indians movie with obvious good guys and obvious bad guys.

What irks me about this issue is not whether or not Islam is a martial religion, it certainly is, but that most who are most vocal about it are fundamentalist Christians who hold up their Bible as an example to this nation (US) and the world to follow. Aljazeera (Arab News) was correct when they titled a report on those fundamentalists "The American Taliban".

The majority of Muslims are not like ISIS which can be seen by the fact that ISIS targets other Muslims as well. Yes, those Liberal/Moderate Muslims are rationalizing Islam but they're no different than Christians who rationalize their scriptures as well.

Anyone who doesn't recognize the terms Reconstructionism and Christian Nationalism needs to research them and see that we have our own equivalent of ISIS who believe in executing those who don't abide by Old Testament law (a few or all of them). These people have intimate ties with Republican politicians who actually seek them out and they get to fill political positions.
