  DJ, thank you for your kind words. I have been doing pretty good. Unfortunately, due to financial problems, I had to sell my newer computer recently, and I have not been on the Internet much at all the last 3 weeks because I have been trying to get my older computer to work right. It seems to be working good now (I thank Jesus for that).

  DJ is very correct -- the Bible shows clearly that Jesus Christ is not only Love, He also is completely Just and Holy and Wise, the same as He was in the Old Testament. Jesus is the One who gave the Mosaic Law.

  I'm not sure whether calling someone a "street corner preacher" is supposed to be an insult or not, but either way, I'm not insulted by it. I do believe there are better ways of making an argument than name-calling.

  To be honest, I have never even stopped to listen to a "street corner preacher" before. Most of the time when driving by, I hear them threatening people with Hell.

  Now, Jesus Christ warned people about Hell, and that is what I do also, however, God does not want people to serve Him because they are terrified of Him, He wants them to serve Him because they love Him.

  Let's see, there are at least 1,000,000 JW's in the USA who most likely have not heard the true Gospel.
  There are probably millions of Mormons in the USA who have never heard the true Gospel.
  There are billions of Catholics in the world who have probably not heard the true Gospel.
  There are millions of Muslims who have probably not heard the true Gospel.
  There are thousands of 7th-Day Adventists who have probably not heard the true Gospel.

  I would guess that there are hundreds of people on this very Website who have NEVER heard the true Gospel.

  Francois, I preach only the Gospel found in the Holy Scriptures -- I do not preach any human's opinions. If you do not believe the Scriptures, then that is your choice. I don't agree with that choice, but I respect your right to make that choice.

  Seven006, God gave the command only to Adam and Eve, not to the animals. There was no sin or evil done by Adam and Eve before they touched and ate the fruit. The sin and evil that was done was touching and eating the fruit. (By the way, I agree with you on one point: if a snake starts talking to you RUN! lol)

  If you do not want to read the Gospel, then don't click on Threads entitled "The Gospel".

  Tell me who was the God that decided what was "holy scripture" and what wasn't when there were hundreds of books written? Also you are so quick to jump all over the Catholics for not knowing the true gospel but it was the Catholic church that gave you your "holy bible". The bible that was edited and reedited to support the early churches theology. Anything they didn't like they just cut out and destroyed and we have to believe this as gospel truth!!! Give me a break.

  The same people who blame God for being a cruel and vindictive one for stepping in and helping his people (Old Testament) charge God with neglect and abandonment when he does not. (New Testament) Their anger is against God more than those who maintain their belief in him. One can only hope that after all the venom is spent, they will return to their Father.

  I'd also like to add to the poster who asked if the gospel had already been preached in the world that I never heard the gospel growing up.....the wt garble was a far cry from what the bible actually teaches.

  In the Gospels, Jesus Christ promised to preserve His Holy Word until "Heaven and Earth pass away".

  The Old Testament Canon was fixed long before the Catholic Church came into existence.

  If you read the writings of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Century Christians, you can tell right away which Books of the New Testament they viewed as Inspired and which ones they did not.

  Basically, the only New Testament books that were disputed by some Churches were:

  Hebrews, 2nd John, 3rd John, 2nd Peter, James, Jude, and Revelation.

  hello undisfellowshiped. take the time to research history before you start preaching the bible as the word of god. you will find many of the bible stories to be direct re-enactments of pre-christian egyptian myths.

  A study of history shows that some of Paul's latter letters have been disputed as even being written by him. They were fraudulently added after to counteract the Gnostics. Also some letter were never even mentioned until the later part of the 2 century, over a hundred years after they were supposedly written!!! The gospels of Matthew and Luke were expanded versions of Mark's gospel and even that one was written some 20 years after Jesus death. The Act's of the Apostles were pieced together and some doubt that they were even written by the same person as if goes from 1st person in some parts to 3rd person narration.

  There were dozen's of other books that were written and referred to by some early Christian's as being "holy" but weren't allowed into the canon of scriptures. It wasn't until the 325 CE that they finalized the new testament cannon. So who was the one that played God here? Sure you can support the Church's claim to authenticity as history was rewritten by the victors. The Church that cried fowl when they were persecuted, turns on the "pagan's", persecutes them and burns all their books as being heretical!!! As far as your point of Jesus promising to preserve his holy word, well once again how do we know what is authentic and what isn't? If you wish to put all your faith in this books fine but I prefer to base mine on facts...

  I have done some research into the Canon of the Bible, and have come up with different facts than what you are calling "facts".

  Like I said, I will post the facts that I have learned ASAP.

  I have some questions for you, William:

  Exactly which "fraudulent letters" were supposedly not written by Paul? And according to who?

  Exactly which letters were "never mentioned until over 2 hundred years after they were supposedly"?

  Matthew and Mark and Luke are all similar because they are reporting on the SAME EVENTS. Sort of like today, you have NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX and they all report on the same events, but they each include some different facts.

  Yes, Matthew and Mark were written 15-20 years after the death of Jesus. I have no problem believing that fact.

  Can you show any evidence or proof that Acts was "pieced together"?

  Could it be that Acts goes from 1st person to 3rd person because part of the time Luke was personally involved in the events he described and part of the time he was not?

  If someone was going to try to deceptively add on to a Book, why would he switch from 1st to 3rd person?

  The Roman Catholic Church excommunicated, persecuted, tortured, and murdered people who simply wanted to own a copy of the Bible.

  The fact that the Bible does not contain Verses that support Mary-worship, Saint-worship, forbidding marriage, forbidding meat, apostolic succession, Purgatory, and following a Pope shows that the Catholic Church did not corrupt or alter the Scriptures on those points. I am pretty sure that they would have added Verses that supported their main doctrines if they were going to alter the Bible significantly.

  The Catholic Bibles do have some corruptions when compared to the Textus Receptus. That is why I use the Textus Receptus and the Majority Text, which were NOT from the Catholics.

  When I see threads like this, it's like being psychologically assaulted for the umpteenth dozen time.

  If jesus and the crew are so good, why does anyone have to sell it?

  Anyways, I have a hard time believing any of it. Let me rephrase that: I don't believe any of it.

  When I started removing jesus/god and all the gobbledegook that used to govern my life: I noticed a sense of freedom (metaphors abound, not really, but one will do).

  A life without jesus, jehovah, the apostles, the bible< oh yeah - has given me a stress free and happier life without taint.

  As a Christ-Chain, I learned to hate others, myself and be in constant strife. Even when I was a 'good' follower.

  For christ-chain graders: I was not only a JW, I had been involved with a couple of other religions: the messages were worded differently, but the end result: judge, judge, judge, judge and call-down upon others.

  If jesus came back, my line would be: Guilty As Charged.
