Jerusalem could not have fallen in either 586 or 587 BCE for such dates do not agree with the Bible and secular history. The date 607 BCE is the only date that fully accounts for the 70 years of Jeremiah as fully ex[plained over many decades by the celebrated WT scholars.

Carl Olaf Jonsson who wrote Gentile Times Reconsidered, the latest is the 4th edn., 2004 and fails to address fully the problem of the 70 years as a period of Exile-Servitude and Desolation and not just Babylonian supremacy or rulership and his date of 587 BCE conflicts with serious scholars who advocate 586 BCE.

It's just such a wonder why, most Historians and the Babylonian records/receipts adhere to the 587/586 chronology. Babylonians were excellent record keepers.

    BULLSHIT !

Nice intellectually dishonest assertion there Scholar but we already heard that from the notably lying and corrupt men of the WTS/JWorg.

It is imperative to note that the leading men of the WTS were not academically trained bible scholars, they were essentially novices running a publishing house, hence their pretentiously weak doctrines.

As Scholar has admitted unity toward falsehoods is still unity, which means within the ideology of religion still equates to power and control for a few select men..

    ----

If the Babylonians were such excellent record keepers then why is there no mention of Babylonian domination over Judah, a conquered territory for the period of 70 years?

Your foul language is unnecessary. Just stick to the facts and such facts indicate that the dates 586/587 are impossible for the Fall of Jerusalem.

The supporting fact is Nebuchadnezzar started his annexation over Judea in 605 BCE, the actions that followed are also well documented in the bible and secular acquired findings, so 607 BCE is ridiculously not supported.

But if you like the BULLSHIT the WTS puts before you and expects you to take it in as food at the proper time that's your business, well actually its the WTS's business if your know what I mean $$$

When a person resorts to abuse then such a person has lost the argument.

    ----

This is a false claim because WT scholars have carefully determined that Neb began his reign twenty years earlier than 605 BCE as the 70 years creates a historical or Babylonian Gap which must be factored into any scheme of Chronology. From such evidence, one can clearly see that 607 BCE is well supported as the only possible date for the Fall of Jerusalem. No other date is possible!!!!!!!

Let us talk not about money but facts: The simple fact is that the Jews were in Exile and that Exile ended in 537 BCE by means of Cyrus' Decree and the Exile lasted for 70 years so if we count back 70 years from 537 BCE then we arrive at the beginning of that Exile in 607 BCE which was made possible by Neb's conquest of Jerusalem in 607 BCE. Nice and easy and further such a history was confirmed by the historian Josephus and not by the scribes who recorded Neo-Babylonian Chronology.

Further, NB Chronology does not account for Neb's vacancy off the throne as described by Daniel who lived at that time in the 4th chapter of his book. Such facts provide support for the 1914 CE as the end of the Gentile Times taught by expositors before Russell and such events in our modern history confirm the validity of those prophecies which in turn also validate 607 BCE. Magnifico!!!!! You gotta love prophecy and the Lord's people.

Hi Beth Sarim - yes of course Carl was onto something. But the weak point was he was looking to an outside authority. That outside authority itself can choose to change the date, then where are you?

The thing about Eze 40:1 is that it is the final scripture of just 7 that shows the WT's own maths is wrong. Therefore you take Jehovah's Himself as the authority not the authority of secular historians.

Ezekiel and Jeremiah were the prophets Jehovah used to express the numbers/arithmetic. You do the maths and you can see that it is Jehovah HImself who calls them out as wrong.

Result - as Korah opposed Moses so GB oppose Jehovah.

They've got some great videos on the official website about Korah.
