    RUB A DUB:

I’m glad you were able to get your provisions.

My elderly Dad who passed away a few years ago lived very near to a Publix and didn’t think it was a big deal to have his pantry fully stocked. I felt otherwise and used to get on his case about this.

He thought he could always get in his car and go shopping. In fact, he loved to get out of the house to go on an errand..But, us kids felt he had a false sense of security because those shelves would be STRIPPED by everybody very quickly in the event of an emergency!

I think this current Covid crisis might make people more aware that they NEED to have a certain amount of provisions in their homes - and not take for granted that they can wait til the last minute and just hop in their car and assume these necessities will be in the store!

It was essential for all in the higher latitudes, north or south to have their larders full for a year. Not everywhere could you have 4 crops a year. It was only late in our history that we left the stockpiling of foods to the professionals, Or the pilots that now fly our bananas north as a routine.

bears have their lard, we our larders. gives you that full-filled feeling.

Our pantry and freezer is still full from last year garden. Lots of dry bean, rice and flour. My wife being a herbalist we have a cabinet full of wild and cultivated herbs, herbal teas and tinctures. Because of the warm winter our stinging nettles patch is coming up which is one of the best superfoods to drink or eat. Gardening season is about to start.

Our governor of ny spoke today and he was not very positive on beating the virus curve. We just do not have enough doctors, nurses, hospitals space or man power to make up the difference. I hope he's wrong but he explained it in a way that was very understandable. I am hearing this may be a 6 month ordeal before we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If that does happen what will our economy look like? Let's hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Take care all. Still Totally ADD

48,000 people have recovered from corona virus. This is what should be all over the news.

Italy had 368 deaths in a single day, reaching 1,809 in total. They have 24,747 cases and might soon overtake China.

European countries are closing their borders, including Germany. Borders are important, who knew!

Trudeau is still dilly dallying over closing the borders. What a clown

I hope the medical is better in the other Euro countries than Italy - read somewhere recently Italy has the worse medical in the world. I know my adult child attended school there for a yr - became ill with flu and scared to death to go to hospital. Options were to fly home to US or get into the UK -- couldn't take any chances.

Why isn't the United States' CDC sending people to Italy to help - they offered help in China?

Trudeau is allowing Chinese to enter which means they can come here -- are the Chinese checked at border into US? Surely they are being stopped from entering US if, in fact, Canada is still open. Unreal.

All casinos are being shut down in the province within the next 24 hours. Transit railways are shut down by 50%. Went to pick up some cleaner at the grocery store and it looks like the shelves were never stocked. Empty! And YES Trudeau is a bastard!!! Now Nova Scotia and they are definitely not set up. Major shortage of doctors. Here major shortage of meds

Yeah, apparently we're not to fly anywhere else but everywhere else can continue to fly here. Trudeau is handling it like he's handled every other emergency - by not making any decisions and consulting first nations. Maybe they can do a "corona-be-gone" dance or bang a drum to stop it.

In this case, making no decision is a BIG decision and will have a profound impact by allowing the virus to spread. Trudeau will be responsible for many deaths.

Visitors from anywhere, including China, Iran and Italy (yes!) are just given a leaflet suggesting they not spread it, thus solving the problem once and for all. We all know how the Chinese adhere to rules ... you never see them on the "Border Security" programme trying to smuggle in raw chicken down their trouser pockets or with a suitcase full of dead, larvae-riddled rare creatures, right? (and "rare" as in endangered, not "under-cooked")

BTW: Were the links between Chinese people ejected from a Canadian bio-lab and the Wuhan bio-lab reported in any other countries? It barely got a mention in newspapers here. But then they do only print what Castro, sorry, I mean "Trudeau", pays them to.
