    Dan Raftopoulos - DO
    I remember a Dennis Raftopolous...same guy maybe?

Surprisingly that's the only name that stuck out that I knew I recognized. There were a couple of others that seemed familiar but I couldn't definitely remember.

Yes, it was Dennis, not Dan.

...Just remembered one... Bob Selee (not sure if the spelling is correct on the last name). I remember he used the same joke everytime he showed up...he would say his name and then say, "It's spelled..." and he would pause and then, "B - O - B", and everyone would laugh and think it was the most original joke ever told

Yes, I remember Bob Salee also. I was a bit of an odd duck as I remember.

Dick Ciranko and Nick Kovalac sure ring a bell. Many years ago when I was pioneering as a single sister, I met Dick at an assembly, and we were attracted to one another. We went out to dinner and exchanged addresses and corresponded for awhile. He was also a pioneer. Then his letters stopped. Over a year passed, and one day there was a letter in the box from him asking me if I would like to come visit him and his family. He mentioned that Nick Kovalac had recommended me. It sounded like he was really serious.

I waited a couple of weeks and then wrote back explaining that I was now engaged to someone else--it was Clyde. I never heard his name again until years later when I sat at a district assembly, and they introduced the district overseer, Dick Ciranko. I felt a tinge of sadness knowing that I could have been his wife. By this time, my husband, Clyde, had quit going to all assemblies and most meetings. I felt like a spiritual widow.

Even though Clyde and I had some rough times because of the "truth", I am now sooo glad that I'm married to him and not Ciranko, and now my only regrets are that I didn't appreciate Clyde more. He is much more of a "man" than anybody I know in the Borg.

A few of the names ring a bell in the UK but to be honest I have forgotten them; they had no influence then and certainly do not now.

Regardless as to how nice or genuine some of these people were or are they were or are part of a sick, controlling, spiritually abusive organisation and wouldve fucked us over in a second if it meant achieving their objectives. Some of us have had the sense to get out, but now I have, I refuse to reminisce.

Wow, quite a story. If you had married him, you probably wouldn't have learned the real truth. I'm sure you appreciate your husband even more now.

    Brother Ian Michael Right

    I M Right

Every CO that I know and every Witness I know took their words as Law and beyond scrutiny that it was in faliable, I have seen so much damage from travleing "brothers". I like Jesus words, Matt 23:8 Amplified Trans 8 But you are not to be called rabbi (teacher), for you have one Teacher and you are all brothers

His future wife followed him from circuit to circuit making sure he knew how humble she was by cleaning the restrooms

wow, Blondie, when did you get so cynical??? Although, I think that you remind me of my best friend in the JW's just before I divorced my very popular elder ex and left/was df'd. Her name is Sherri, and she is a very petite, extremely worldly and sassy, cool lady..............her and her hubby Mark, whom I still love to this day, despite not being allowed to talk to them because of my unholy status per the WTS, will always be in my heart and soul. They lit the fire in my soul, and helped me realize that my life was missing alot of important stuff, and I needed to get going on enjoying it. I recently called her and she basically acted like the programmed JW Robot at first, but, after the intial shock wore off of hearing from me for the first time in 7 years, she became a very frightened human being...........all she kept saying was "she had to remain faithful to Jehovah" and it just broke my heart that she was so brainwashed...........

Daryl Marlowe - Genuinely nice guy, a prince,

me and my sister both had the privilege of having Daryl and his wife, Joyce, as our Circuit Overseer. He is a genuinely good man, genuinely cares for his brothers and sisters, despite their very humanness. In my opinion he could have had a successful career as CEO of a top corporation, as well as one as a Psychologist. He is a gifted individual.
