Surprised to hear that about Jerry Griffiths. I knew him before he became a Circuit Overseer, then met him again when I think he was a District Overseer? and he mentioned with great sadness that his sister, whom I also knew, had been disfellowshipped for immorality. Interesting that he went the same way.

Valiant did you know that two congregations in Oklahoma City tried to disfellowship Simcox? They had some problem with grounds because the Bible really doesn't mention what you do with someone that a complete, unadulterated, vicious pig. They obviously had a real high opinion of their CO.

I have no favorites but I don’t think I will ever forget one name in particular.
I scanned all 8 pages and was surprised that no one mentioned (sorry if I missed it) Floyd Kite. He was probably by far the most animated CO.

looked through this whole thread hoping someone would have posted the CO's name who I absolutly loved the most but can't remembe his name! He was very tall, silver hair (they called him the Silver Fox). Served in California then was sent to Arizona where he finally retired from Circuit work and eventually died there in the late 90's. Very nice guy, his wife was equally nice. Wish I could remember his name, darn, he really loved people and it showed.

Oh it came to me last night just as I was starting to go to sleep. The name of the CO that I liked very much was Mike Wargo, he and his wife were really personable, kind and not at all haughty.

I agree plmkrzy I remember him well. It seemed like he was in the circuit I was in forever too.

What's cool is that one day they'll all google their own names and find an opinion of themselves here...

Drew I'm racking my brain to remember the guy's first name. He was from Dallas originally.

I almost forgot another guy named Lord. Pretty much of a zero actually, just a place server. Anyone have a guy named Kozinski, Koscinski, something like that? I believe his wife was named Jo Ann. Never had him as CO but I met him.

A few that haven't been mentioned so far...

Melvin Branam - seemed to be a good guy, very longwinded, but seemed like a genuinely good guy

Stanley Coberly - former missionary who got sick and had to come home the the circuit work, a single CO, rather unassuming and didn't seem to fit the mold of what most other CO's were like (kind of hard to describe)

Gayle Comer - seemed to be very self-absorbed, a very tall man who enjoyed looking down at people, literally... Steven Miller - another good guy who actually seemed to put people ahead of rules occasionally

Most of my memories of the CO's are actually quite positive, with only a few exceptions. Had I been sitting in on the MS or elder's meetings, maybe my opinion would have been quite different.
