I've just realised that this weekend of, September 21st is 5 years since I disassociated from the JW's.

Where did the time go? You tell us Gordy??? What have you done since leaving???? Mouthy wants to know. I sit here seeing all the arrangments and I am jealous as heck!!!!If I didnt have my convention the same time I would fly over there. Enjoy!!!!

What have I done since leaving?

I had stopped attending meetings in August 1999, because I no longer could accept WT teachings. I DA'd in September 2001, because that was the first time in those two years that I had a visit from Elders. Then it was only because they were having a campaign to get "inactive" ones back. It made me mad that the only time they could call on me was so they could get their numbers up. If they had bothered to call earlier they would have found out that I had become a Christian in March 2000 and was attending a Pentecostal church. Also that a son and daughter had also DA'd and become Christians as well.

I have been involved with the Reachout Trust here in Britain. My testimony is on various websites. I occasionally recieve letters from people who want to know about JW's, or know someone who is, or are JW's. I've had two such letters today one I directed to this forum and she has started to post already!! The other was someone who was studying to be a nurse and wanted to know about JW's and blood and medicine.

I have been living a fairly good life. I go out for a drink and socialise with people. I have a job which pays the bills. I see all but two of my children.

In these past 5 years I have not had contact with my JW wife and two JW daughters. Not entirely correct I met my wife when my oldest son was in hospital in April this year. She said "Hello, how are you?" and that was it nothing more, she just talked to my sons wife (non-JW) and I ceased to be there. The two JW daughters I have not seen or spoken to, wouldn't know what they looked like now. They know were I am so its up to them.

I have learnt not to let it get me down. Get on with life and enjoy, it which is why I'm going to the Aposta-curry. Nothing annoys JW's more than you getting on with your life and enjoying it.
