Yes, friends of mine sold their home and dragged their three kids off to live in poverty in houses that were barely inhabitable - no electricity or running water or heat at night! Yup, Jehovah's heart just warmed at this.

If the boy doesn't conform he'll be tossed aside by his family and community, very likely as a teenager when he needs them the most.

Pioneer Hour Requirements Not Changing

he mentioned he got this information from the governing body.
he advised everyone to stop believing in rumors!

Sheri discusses her JC meeting on The View
by shopaholic inshow aired thursday 12/11.. they were talking about losing your virginity and who you told when it happened.
sheri mentioned that she wrote it in her diary and sister found it, tore out the page and took it to their mom and her pleading with her mom not to tell the elders.
she talks about sitting in front of the 3 elders with her dad and being asked very probing questions like if she had oral sex.

Even is she wasn't baptized, if she was an unbaptized publisher living with her family, she could have been treated as baptized and had a jc and reproof. It depended what year it was and what congregation you were in; so much for unity.
Don't you know, they had to "protect" other youth and families by embarrassing her and her family and making them feel like crap.

You should write. They need to know you're unhappy with their product. I wrote a few years ago because of the same thing (not sure it was the same brand of tuna, but I think so.) I did get coupons for several free cans. They weren'a a lot better, but they were free.

Did you ever do "rooming" work before a convention?
by crazycate intruthseeker's topic on the recommended lodging list, and some of the experiences people have had, made me remember the rooming work we did before a convention that was held in our city many years ago.
we actually went door to door asking people if they had rooms they would be willing to let visiting witnesses stay in.
i don't remember anyone telling me, "yes," but i know there were people who signed up rooms.

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN !
by Simon inas i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.

it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).

I wasn't sure it wasn't the truth until I found this forum and the courage to read CoC. I was saddened to see how the organization I'd given my life to was full of hypocracy and hurtful deeds. My heart broke when I read the Maliwi/Mexico information. I spiraled down into a depression that lasted about three weeks. In the end, I was relieved to know that I had not doomed my kids by leaving.

It's not a machine. It's a metal cone, the turkey goes in head first, the throat gets cut or the head comes off and it bleeds out. Then off to the next part of the processing.
Ironic that SP was there to pardon a turkey and yet stands in front of the meeting place for all the rest of the turkeys, those that end up on the Thanksgiving platter!
