  What's up with old geezers in the Bible?

  what the hell is the problem with the famous “men of old” in the bible?

  for some strange reason those old geezers (and some not so old) could not recognize who they were screwing?.

  my wife was listening to this week’s bible reading about jacob, laban, and the sisters leah, and rachael.

  The bar is set pretty low to be considered a "righteous man". I guess Peter didn't know that "righteous Lot" was a incestuous old geezer!

  some long for the good old days before cell phones and computers.

  "If you can remember the 60's, you weren't there" so the saying goes! I can't remember the 60 too well but it was definitely my favorite decade. Growing up in southern California, surfing, cruising, lots of drinking, lots of 'witness' parties, a little smoke (just to take the edge off). I even got married in the 60's and it's lasted 53+ years.

  My wife was listening to this week’s Bible reading about Jacob, Laban, and the sisters Leah, and Rachael. Somehow??? poor old Jacob gets ‘tricked’ by his father-in-law into screwing the wrong sister. Obviously they didn’t look alike since the ‘very reliable’ Bible record says that Rachael was beautiful but Leah was dull.

  So earlier in Bible history Lot gets seduced by his 2 daughters into an incestuous relationship, not once but twice, and now Jacob can’t tell the difference between Leah and Rachael?

  Really, are there any men (or women for that matter) who don’t know who they’re screwing?

  Coronavirus Positive

  hey all,.

  i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.

  i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

  Plasma treatment for COVID-19

  saw on the news a story about using plasma from people who have recovered from covid-19 being used to treat people who have covid-19 via transfusion.

  well, if that proves to be effective, i guess it would really stink to be a jw!

  maybe the governing body would decree that in instances of covid-19, and only with covid-19, the whole "no blood" thing would be ignored.

  Hey if the GB can declare that Covid-19 makes it's unnecessary to "gather together for THE MOST important day of the year", the memorial, well then they might just be able to find some very obscure scripture buried in one of the books of the minor prophets that will allow emergency blood transfusion due to Covid-19!

  What the hell if you can break one commandment to save lives, why not another to save lives!
