  After the Covid-19 crisis: what will happen?

  what will happen after the covid-19 crisis?.

  - economy with all the stand still corporations, people without work and mass injections of support money?.

  - politics with the end of globalisation, closed borders and new geopolitic friends (italy / china russia), lack of support and working together in eu and local politics, did the current politician the right thing?.

  There have been several seemingly "world changing event" over the past 102 years starting with the Spanish Flu. 20-50 million died, but soon life went on and things got back to 'normal'. The 2 World Wars were certainly events that altered civilization especially the holocaust, 6 million Jews died, but soon things got back to 'normal' and life went on. Those events did foster changes in the way things are done and the way lives were lived for many but I believe that a few years from now this too, Covid-19, will be part of history that scared the shit out of us but life will go on and things will return to 'normal'.

  Religions and cults thrive went things like this happen but in the end I believe that rationale and sanity will prevail!

  my wife said " this shows alot when the borg stops assemblies" i said it show alot when alot of venues, governments and other religions shut down stuff.

  I reluctantly "attended" the meeting yesterday morning with my pimi wife as it was streamed into our living room on our 65 inch Samsung TV. We didn't get dressed up and were actually in our pajamas. She drank her coffee and munched on a cinnamon bun while I sipped on a Bloody Mary. Who'd of think it?

  the losing jobs and having poor health will be applied for sure in whatever meeting is held.. but i wonder if anyone will connect the middle aged man losing his job and the old and the sick with the way bethelites are treated..

  It will be interesting to see how many parasites lose their cushy positions at Warwick and Paterson and the other branch facilities. Less meetings, less assemblies, less conventions=less money! Too many mouths to feed at the branch so bye bye!

  Have you Witnessed a Change in People's Life-Style / Behaviour where you Live?

  i certainly have , over the normal week i go to one of two clubs where i have two beers over a couple of hours ( i pace myself ) and catch up with a few friends .

  one of the clubs every hour goes around to disinfect everywhere people make contact with pokies /machines or whatever we might touch.and they also now have limits as to how many can be in a certain area at any one time.and that applies to both clubs ,except one does not disinfect every hour.. today, their were far fewer people in this particular club that i attended that is usually bustling with patrons on a saturday either drinking gambling and socializing .not today.

  and a strict rule of how many could be in a certain area at any one time .. and i agree with all of this , its necessary .and i will be monitoring my own activities as need be.. what have you noticed in your neck of the woods.?

  Central/Northern Californians are sort of nervous but hey Californians are a little wacky anyway. We're very liberal out here and certainly not used to being indoors even in the winter. This winter has been mostly very dry but it started raining some last week. The road traffic is clearly much lighter but the beaches and parks are still getting visitors. Just a time to hunker down and wait it out.

  2020 Memorial - No Need To Actually Have The Emblems

  over at jw talk they're saying because they're having to hold the upcoming memorial at home, they dont need to actually have the emblems.

  apparently, listening to or watching the talk is the thing that counts.. "do this in rememberence of me" apparently means watching tony morris on your phone give a talk.. this begs the question... "what's the point?

  I'd say that beer and pretzels are an acceptable substitute for wine and bread and I bet the jews would have preferred it too!

  Will "social distancing" help JWs wake up.

  with the existing and still to come covid19 lock downs in many countries i wonder if not being obliged to attend meetings and field service will give many jws the opportunity to clear their mind a little and start to see the cracks.

  i know they will be expected to log on to their devices but with no one other than family to monitor this it could be a circuit breaker for many.

  of course the fear of end times pestilence may counter that.

  Nearly all of the jw's that I know and talk to (all of my immediate family) are looking at this situation as a ' stay-cation' or a stay at home vacation from the wt treadmill of endless and continuous meetings/f/assemblies/conventions! Inwardly they are not disappointed and once they realize that they can find alternative activities to fill the dull void of continuous meetings/f/assemblies/conventions no telling what might happen.

  So it's ok to break god's law which clearly states.."Keep doing this in remembrance".. if the circumstances are critical!

  But if you're gonna die without a blood transfusion it's NOT okay to break god's law about abstaining from blood!

  I guess it depends on the definition of critical circumstances.

  What SHOULD have woken you up ?

  for myself, there is an embarrassingly long list of things that really should really have woken me up, fully.

  it was a long process for me, as a mind controlled born in, things i simply did not agree with, or knew were downright wrong, that built and built, and, eventually i woke up, after 58 bloody years in !.

  but just mainly for fun, what should have woken you up ?.
