Fred Franz Discredited a GB -- Part II
by RationalWitness infred franz discredited a gb -- part ii .
after elaborating on how jesus christ had 'used' c. t. russell as a modern-day evangelizer, franz continued his talk with an historical look at the origins of the gilead school, evidently intending to remind his audience that it was not a "governing body", but the president of the society who had been 'used' by god to bring about this marvelous educational institution.
his comments regarding how the society's president was "viewed" are of particular note, as they suggest what the governing body's nearly year-long discussions were aimed at bringing about ...well, so that watch tower bible and tract society, uh, operated throughout the years, and then, to make the story short, we come down to the year 1942. and i can remember a special meeting that was held on thursday, september the 24th, of the year 1942. a new president had, eh, arisen to preside over the affairs of the watch tower bible and tract society.

by Maximus inplease read the following brief paragraph carefully: .

Disassociation versus disfellowshipping
by Marvin Shilmer indisassociation versus disfellowshipping is an interesting discussion for several reasons.
morally, one thing matters: both are procedures put in place by the wts to impose shunning.
that is the bottom line.

3 of the Slimiest positions in the WT Org.
by D wiltshire ini think three of the slimiest jobs you can have in the wt org.
1) public relations; (you have to tell lots of 12, 14, truths).
four thumbs down.. 2) writer; (you have to be able to slant the truth or someone will replace you).. 3) legal department, ( lie with zeal for your side, and instruct others how to lie with zeal).. .

Objection by an elder
by cnn77 ini approached one of the elders with some of my doubts..... i mildly pointed to the fact that the wtbs had been errent in it's prediction of 1975 as well as some of the other "new light" issues.. his response was one which i have heard many times before: "the society is made up of imperfect men.
interestingly, in 99% of cases most witnesses will accept this explanation and feel guilty for questining a their fellowman ( the humaistic side of the organisation is unconscioulsy impressed onto the mid of the questioner).
at least that is how it has worked on me - until recently.. the next time i am fed this line of reasoning i would like to ask the following question: "ok brother elder, i accept that they are not perfect.

Prevalence of JW Suicides - Real or Imagined?
by AMNESIAN inin one or two recent threads i've seen reference to the possibility of a rising number of jw suicides being another of the organization's very dark realities about which it is vigilant in keeping concealed from its pub populace.
is there anyone reasonably informed regarding this?
is there reason to suppose the incidence ratio among jws is any higher than among any peoples/religion?
