Witness Apologists
by stevieb1 inwith so much going wrong with the wts why do intelligent individuals such as greg stafford and rolf furuli strive to defend it of their own volition?
secondly, have any ex-jw's who have read stafford's books almost been convinced that wt doctrine is bible based after reading hs argumentation?
it is my understanding from my own research into the wt that most witness academics eventually leave the organization as a result of their research, even when they originally set out to defend it.

How does Church Compare with Kingdom Hall?
by stevieb1 inthis is for ex-jw's attending church..... how were your first impressions of a church as compared to your association at the kingdom hall?.
how long was it after you left the wt before attending church?.
were you at first reticent about starting to attend church?.

Does God Overlook WT Doctrine and Examine Hearts?
by stevieb1 inanother thought provoking issue which begs for a few well thought out replies:.
we all know about the ever-changing doctrine of the wtbts and the occasional hypocrisy of some of its members, but does not god see beyond these matters and examine the heart of the vast majority of jw's who believe in christ and try to be christians albeit following the faulty leadership of the wt?
in other words does not the good outweigh the bad?.

The Knock at the Door After the Prayer
by stevieb1 inthis experience is commoly related by jehovah's witnesses:.
a man or woman is desperately searching for "the truth" or someone is about to give up on life but before they do they utter a prayer to god and lo and behold a knock is heard on the door and behind the door are jehovah's witnesses.. these experiences are used by jw's to confirm angelic direction on their work and seems to reinforce in them that they have the "truth".. how does one argue against such personal experience?.
i am no longer a jw and no longer support their organizational teachings by the way, but i'd like to throw out the above question to you all for comment and consideration.. .

The Organization -An Enemy or Friend
by stevieb1 ini would like to ask you for your collective help:.
i am in the process of attending a judicial committee meeting with three elders because of my "speaking" of "apostate" ideas in the congregation.
they have made responses to some of my thoughts but i can't make a reply in turn.

Where You "overlooked" for Cong. Priv...
by stevieb1 inpicture the scene:.
you are a young single brother with no other jw family members.
you manage to tot up 90hrs a month in "field service";spend five hours per week preparing your watchtower for the study, however you are not an extremely extrovert person and don't try to "impress" the elders and the co. it seems though that this "spiritual" person never seems to be appointed as a ms or an excesively long time passes by before he does become such.

WT Speaks Out On Apostasy
by stevieb1 inthe following quote is taken from the september 15, 2002 edition of the watchtower, p.16-18:.
"in the first century, such individuals as hymanaeus, alexander, and philetus, were advocating ideas that did not fit "the pattern of healthful words.
" (1 timothy 1:18-20; 2 timothy 2:16,17) how could the early christians avoid being led astray by apostates?

Deuteronomy 19:15 and Child Abuse Issue
by stevieb1 inin the nwt this verse reads: .
"no single witness should rise up against a man respecting any error or any sin, in the case of any sin that he may commit.
at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses the matter should stand good.

"Two Witnesses" doctrine and child ab...
by stevieb1 inlike many others, i too am outraged by the watchtower's legalistic doctrine over the reporting of child abuse to the authorities, but for those lead by the bible we do have a dilemma because it would seem that the society are correct in their interpretation of deuteronomy 19:15 and matthew 18:16 and naturally they want to apply these verses to how they handle allegations of child abuse in judicial cases.. .
but with that being said, does the watchtower mis-apply these verses in any way?
if it can be shown that they do the case against them will be much stronger!.
