I called my mom.
by lisavegas420 inafter more than 20yrs without a relationship....after more than 5yrs without hearing a word from her, i called.. out of the blue, i just called.. me: hi, mom, it's me lisa.
mom: oh, hi.. me: well, it's been a long time, i just wanted to check and see how you and dad were.. mom: we're fine.. the conversation ranged from, the weather, my husband, my children and grandchildren, (whom she's never met) my animals, gardening.
we talked about how dad was doing now, (after a stroke) how he walks with a cane, and uses an electric wheel chair when they go to walmart.

Anyone from Sweden here?
by AlexHall inhi.. im new to the posting-part of this forum and was wondering if there s any other ex-witnesses from sweden in here?.
i v been reading a lot of the topics here and i have to admit it have helped me to start seeing the bigger picture.
it took almost a whole year as a ex-borg before i grew the courage to start reading "apostate" information.

Leolaia, slimboyfat et al. - how difficult?
by TheOldHippie ini read your posts, and the posts of others, and posts at other sites - posts that are full of research material of the sort you will have to spend the whole night going thru and trying to remotely get a grip of.. so i wonder - just how difficult do you - or others - feel that christianity, christian faith, "salvation" is meant to be?
if you consider a namib desert pygme, a bhutan sherpa, a yunnan farmer, an andes mine worker, an amazonian jungle dweller, an indian without caste, a big city sidewalk dweller - just how hard can it be meant for him / her to grasp the gospel and gain hope of salvation?
what is demanded by the salt of the earth people?

Drinking issues, alcoholism and ex JW's
by digderidoo ini got talking to my mother yesterday about my alcoholism issues and slightly touched upon how my jw past has had a bearing on it.. she was telling me about a lady who cuts my nan's hair who turns out is an ex jw and we know her family.
apparently this lady drinks heavily and every day, at the same time is angry about her jw past and the way she's treated by family even though sh'es not df'ed.. we had a small chat about my alcoholism and that i could relate to this lady.. anyway it got me realising that there are a number here who have similar issues, so i would like to post this link.. http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/.
it's a forum that covers addiction in general, it has helped me loads.

J.Ws Society For The Suppression Of Practically Everything.
by cluless inthe most important thing i learnt from being a jehovers witness was that i never really learnt anything.
i could hold opinions as long as they were not dogmatic against the society:.
i may have thought that 2 and 2 equals 4 but i was only allowed to "suspect" this was correct as the society may have shed new-light on this.. cluless---(but i now no 2 and 2 equals 4..

Does you get reely annoiyed at posta's who start thred's wif typo's in the titel?
by yadda yadda 2 indo you find it annoying and insulting when someone starts a thread with typos in the title?
i snort in contempt when i see a new thread started and the poster hasn't even bothered getting the spelling correct in the title, or starts the thread off with a post full of typos and crap grammar.
i've found that the more stupid mistakes there are in the title of a thread and in the poster's initial post, the less interesting and worthy of reading is the thread.
