Why is Jehovah's Witness considered the measuring stick?
by avidbiblereader inwhen we discuss scriptural teachings, christian conduct, morals, ect... why is jehovah's witnesses considered the measuring stick or the bar to beat or meet?.
why not the bible, why not another religion?
why is jehovah and christ looked at through the witnesses eyes or perceived representation?.

Did God ever Exist?
by found-my-way inreading so many posts on atheism which is the belief that there is no god, and reading comments from creationists made me ponder if there was an alternate reason for our existence.. if god is up there, why does he permit suffering?
if i were god, i wouldn't of let it happen in the first place, these are my children, why would i let them suffer?
maybe i am influenced by my creationist upbringing and beliefs while a jw, because i find it hard to wrap my brain around the idea that everything came from nothing.

New track work
by sspo inonce again the witnesses are being pushed out there for new track work, inviting people to the district convention for the summer.. this is the third time in a few months that they go nuts in trying to cover their territory.. another way to try to get the dead witnesses out there and preach.. when will it end?

Isn't the light supposed to be getting brighter?
by sir82 inask any jw about the flip-flops in doctrine, and within a few moments, you'll be hearing about proverbs 4:18, the one about the "path getting brighter".
i.e., "our understanding has increased, so we had to make an adjustment.".
i was just thinking about the last major changes in jw doctrine over the past dozen years or so...does this sound like light getting "brighter"?.

Credit
by sandy inok, i put this under jokes and humor because my credit seems to be a joke at the moment.. ok, so i've been working at repairing it.
anybody have any suggestions about how to do this on my own.. i've been doing ok so far but i ran into some difficulty with a couple comapanies that i paid in full.. they say they cannot ask the credit bureau to erase my info from my report.
is this true, or do they just do not want to bother with me since i paid them back all their money?.

JW's sat beside me at lunch, didn't say a word!
by WingCommander inunbelievable.
*** note: i grew up jw, never baptized or df'd though.i haven't set foot in a kh in 2 years, ever since i gave some so-called friends my new telephone # and address, and asked them to stop by and chat about our beliefs with my new wife.
i had taken her to the memorial and 2 meetings, and of course she got love-bombed, but no one ever called, or came around to speak to her, or me!

Again we don't know- May 1, 2007
by architect infolks this may have been posted, another thing to add to the "hummm, is this gods organization list?".
the may 1, 2007 question from readers brings new light to the subject of when was the year the call for the anointed ended?.
1935. new light alert -------the bible does not say ( this could have raised some issue especially in lieu of the age of new gov body members added last year or so).

Altering reality where do you stand......
by fifi40 into fill you in and explain my post....... i was raised as a jw but left (not baptised) at 16. i started studying again at 24ish and was quickly baptised and got disfellowshipped aged about 32ish.
whilst i was active as a jw i socialised plenty, but it did not involve copious amounts of drink or drugs.
during my times out i have very very occasionally smoked a little dope and have been drunk more often but by no means frequently.
