A New Guy from Chicago with a Story to Tell
by Reborn2002 infirst of all id like to say hello to everyone on this website, and to thank and acknowledge each and every one of you for your individuality, personal experience, and in some cases, commitment to truth.. having read some of the heartfelt topics and posts here have served to be a great encouragement to me, more than some could imagine.
my name is jason, and i am a recovering ex-jw.. i guess this would be an ideal time to tell my life story as an abbreviated version, so here goes.. i was "born into, or raised" in the organization.
my grandfather was an elder for 45 years, and served as one of the very first jw in the south chicagoland suburbs.

Lady Lee's story
by Lady Lee inborn in toronto, canada in 1952, i lived with my parents and three younger brothers until i was ten years old.
there was a lot of violence in our home.
my father was an abusive, rageful man who took out all his frustrations on his family.

Julie, see the OTHER possibility
by Derrick inin another topic, julie stated a possibly ironic outcome of our quest for everlasting life: "wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that we get one life, no immortality, and all these people wasted their whole lives fighting about who was right or wrong about the details of an immortality that doesn't exist?".
in a universe where all things are possible, consider another possible outcome: wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that a higher intelligence exists, is planning an infinite future of good times for humanity, to the awesome delight felt by all these people who spent their whole lives searching for the truth?.
julie, if you're out there, stop selling yourself short with negative "what if" scenarios.

Who goes to heaven?
by Rev BII inprofile | register | active | rated | members | stats | search.
the resurrection of life is the one the saints get in rev 20:6. the rest get a resurrection of judgment, not life, and on earth.
>the rest get a resurrection of judgment, not life, and on earth.
